I just wanted to give the good people of Fodors the heads up that I am about to cancel 3 nights at Yosemite Lodge (May 30-June 2) and 1 night at Wawona, room w/bath (May 29). This is the second year in a row that I have had to do this. Once for my husbands job, and now mine. Next year...here we come! Thanks to all of you for the help over the years.

seashell, is this reservation transferable? Or is the Wawona obliged to give a cancelled res to the waitlist? Cuz if it's the former, I might be interested.

Wow---a match! I doubt they keep a waiting list---can you call and see if it can be transferred?

I was told that there is no waiting list.

I just called the Yosemite rezzies line as I am in the same boat. Well, the first rezzie person told me that what needs to happen is that I need to fax
his/her reservation to them at
(559)456-0542 with instructions that
I am requesting a transfer of said rezzie to new persona-name, address,
phone #.

Realizing that I forgot to ask how my credit card would get refunded (1st nights deposit)and the new persons charged, I called back.
Rachel at rezzies told me the first
thing I'd been told would not work.
Rachel said what needed to happen
was that she would look up my rezzie by rezzie number and change it at my request to the new name. Then when new name checks in, my cc would be refunded
and new persons cc would be charged.

Anyone game for making a 3rd call ?

Wow--combine these two and someone could get a whole week (with one night in the middle missing).

LucieV--I hope seashell comes back to check and sees your request. Hopefully it can be worked out.

R5---I wish I could take over yours---Yosemite is so lovely in early June. Unfortunately my whole vacation time is already booked up, and I can't get off work. Sigh.

R5--in re-reading what the DNC rezzie people told you, I realized this method would put you at some risk. If the second person for some reason did not show up to claim the reservation, it would still be charged to your CC, not theirs.

Still, there must be some way to do it.

Sorry everyone - busy afternoon yesterday and just had a chance to get back. I didn't realize that they allowed you to tranfer reservations...I called the reserv. line yesterday and cancelled both reservations. I was just hoping that someone could sneak in and get them.
