Don't make generalities about all of NY. While I think fur coats are fine in midtown, Upper West and Upper East sides any time, day or night, I would NEVER wear a fur in the West or East Village, or Brooklyn or Williamsburg. Very conspicuous, and not in a good way.

Living in the village, I agree with the poster above. Wearing fur is the exception downtown. <BR>
