Fun things for a 4yo in Las Vegas?
we are going to Las vegas soon and are bringing our four year old. Besides the pool, wondering if there are any other fun things to do with a 4 year old in vegas. I haven't started my research yet, but thoughti'd come here for some suggestions. Thanks!

Just a few questions for you about your trip.
1. Have you ever been to Vegas? 2. Are you staying on the Strip? 3. Will you have a car? Okay .. with that said ... My DH and I have been to Vegas several times, the most recent was a couple years ago and we had our 3 year old and 1 year old with us. DH was working a conference for 3 days and I had to keep the kids entertained. It was June and hot. I did not have access to the car during the days, so we walked everywhere. This is what I did. We stayed at NY NY. Ond day we took the tram from the MGM (right across the street from NY NY) and rode to the shark Exhibit at, I think, Mandalay Bay. the kids loved it .. although i thought we would never get there .. the walk from the tram to the actual exhibit was a pretty far walk, albeit was all inside and air conditioned, but remember I had a 1 year old in a baby Bjorn and a 3 year old. Lunch is easy for kids in Vegas, all the restaurants have something interesting to look at while you eat. I beleive it is the MGM that has the Rainforest Cafe .. if yo have never eaten at one .. the kids love it. There is the M&M store ... where a kids can spend a lot of time and a lot of money ..beware the back wall of the store is where you can buy individual bags of all different colored M&M's .. inquire about the $ per pound before you let your 4 year old go crazy .. seems to me it was like $7 a lb .. yeah .. for M&M's :) We stent some time at the Ventian .. The kids watched the Gondala's and the street performers . also, a great place to have lunch. Vegas has become much more family friendly .. just beware, that if you are walking, things look closer than they really are ... the blocks in vegas are HUGE. If yo have a car .. considering going to Hoover Dam .. it is a short drive. Enjoy and pack your hats and sunscreen, whatever time of year you go. |
Would they enjoy a Cirque show like "Mystere?"
|
@ Dukey I think there is an age restriction on those shows .. but Mystere was a good one .. I agree .. kids would love it.

Seeing the lions fed at MGM
Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay Carnival games at NYNY or Circus Circus Dolphins and mini-zoo at Mirage Springs Preserve |
I would never bring a 4 year old to Vegas, actually even a 16 year old.

Of the various casino hotels, Circus Circus bills itself as being especially kid-friendly.

A 4 year old is not going to notice the seamy side of Vegas.
