Fun Sun Travel.com Anyone know anything about them??
Received some info from this company offering travel to the Bahamas and Florida. It is a pkg deal with airfare, hotel in Florida and a cruise to the Bahamas plus hotel in Bahamas all for only $299. As usual seems too good to be true. Has anyone heard of them? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

Was this a postcard mailing that you got? What does the fine print say? Is the company located in Florida? If the answers to the above question are yes, throw the postcard away and ignore them. This type of deal is a scam from the get go.

Only book with travel agents and tour operators that you know.

By the way the cruise is probably a day junket to Nassau. Not worth much.

From a previous poster:

Author: Alert Avoid ([email protected])
Date: 07/19/2002, 09:57 pm
Message: I can tell you the honest truth, I USED TO WORK FOR FUNSUN TRAVEL. I can tell you honestly that IT IS NOT A SCAM, but IT IS NOT NEARLY AS GOOD AS IT SOUNDS. Firstly, there is no cruise, it is basically a transportation ship from Florida to the Bahamas and back. Your accomodations in the bahamas are at the Island Palm resort, a 2 star crap joint, and in orlando they are also low quality hotels. A car is included but it is a compact. What they neglect to tell you is that a) Your flight will have to leave at like 2 in the morning (depending on where you are from) because the ship leaves Port Everglades at 8 in the morning. They also don't tell you that when you come back from Bahamas, you arrive in Fort Lauderdale at about 11 p.m. and are expected to drive to Orlando at this point for your accomodations and you would arrive there at about 1 a.m. I would say that this trip is not a scam, but is only worthwhile if you are really planning on saving money and excepting quite poor service and accomodations.

Yes, Jen, we've used this travel firm for what they describe as a cruise, which it is, but only a nice one, not a super luxurious one. One objection was the ship's failure to pass USCG safey regulations prior to our departuere, forcing all of the passengers to show up for a 2 a.m. silent departure. We were herded into the cafetreia (they called it the main lounge) and seated for BINGO and snacks while we're waited to go on deck, which occurred about 10 a.m. the next morning. It was very pleasant, and we'd do it again, but we've not been successful locating where their main office is now. Can you be of any assistance, Jen?

No I do not work for Fun Sun Travel. I am actually retired and love it. Someone I know asked me if I knew anything about them knowing how much I am interested in travel and am always going to the Fodor's website to gain information. Why does everyone think as soon as you ask a question about a specific company you work for them. Don't be so paranoid.

Jen, you answer sounds inconcistent, sorry. You first said the company sent you information. Now you tell us somebody asked you about the company. Why are you so interested, do you want to use their services? Or is this strictly to help a friend? By the way, what are the cost details in the package you said they sent you?
