How about Rosa Mexicana on 18th street. They have the bst guacamole and they make it at the table. They also have lots of interesting appetizers the grls can share and try different things.
For my daughter 17th, she and a few girls had brunch at Balthazar and really enjoyed that. |
MF - I was JUST about to suggest both of those restaurants...how eerie! I went to Balthazar for my 19th bday and loved it, and I was actually at a work dinner at Rosa last night! Both are great for groups.

Stop the presses ... we have a winner!
The new Chinatown Brasserie, not in Chinatown, is perfect. It's known as the "Chinese Balthazar" and it's very cool, new, hip, and the space is amazing. It's on Lafayette at the corner of Great Jones, in the Village. (New Yorkers, the space used to be Time Cafe upstairs and Fez downstairs.) |
Off topic, I know, but that place got a hilarious review from the NY Observer. It does seem good for a group that age.

If they like pasta, Becco on 46th street has a great pasta special.

Thanks for all the suggestions. They are going to Rosa Mexicana.

They'll like it. It quite large and comfortable, and festively decorated.
