Fun/cheap/free events in NYC
Hello.

I'm looking for free or very cheap activities to do in NYC.....I enjoy music, outdoors, and practically any free/cheap stuff to do here. I've already done the Staten Island Ferry and been to the Whitney Art Museum on 'Pay as you Wish' nights. Any other suggestions? I believe many of the museums have 'pay as you wish' nights so I plan to take advantage of this. Any suggestions for cheaper plays, musical events......doesn't have to be Broadway. I've been for an off-off-broadway play which I thought was very good as well. Appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks.

I think there are historical tours of Grand Central, they are either free or very inexpensive. Great opportunity to learn about this wonderful building. Check their website for more info.

There's info on this site about things to do for free or under $10 at

http://www.fodors.com/features/nfdis...yc_fununderten

The 'Sony Museum' is free. It's a fun place to check out!

There are free concerts put on by Julliard once a week in the afternoon at Lincoln Center.

Not really applicable now, but the Staten Island Yankees, the Yankees' minor league franchise, are really fun to watch. The stadium is great - overlooks Manhattan and the harbor - and games are super cheap.
Tree at Rockefller Center; Christmas WIndows while walking up and down 5th Avenue; an hour of wandering through St. Patrick's Cathedral; check out free tix for Conan O'Brien show at the NBC Store (go when they open for standly tix) or call for Letterman tix or stop by Ed Sullivan Theatre north of Time Square. I'm sure you know about the TKTS booth in Time Square.

When you get to the city, pick up a copy of the Village Voice. It's free and has free events in it's listings section.

Have fun!
