I'll have a full day in downtown Nashville in a couple of weeks before a weekend conference. Seeking an itinerary review. I have been before, mostly touring Vanderbilt.

I'll arrive at 8:45 am. Staying at Union Station, so let's say I will arrive at hotel around 9:30.

I'd like to then walk to Ryman and Country Music Hall of Fame. Considering a lunch perhaps at Union Station, as I'd like to explore the property and amenities some.

After lunch, I'm thinking of either Belmont Mansion or Belle Meade Plantation. Thoughts? Both seem accessible via bus from Union Station.

Then, maybe back to Union Station to enjoy some appetizers in the lounge. Then, a dinner perhaps at a honkytonk. Thoughts?

Finally, was planning on post-dinner drinks at Tribe.

I feel bad that nobody has responded to your question yet so I will give it a try. You can walk to the Ryman and the Country Music Hall of Fame--kind of a long walk but do-able. If I were you I would just stay in that area for lunch rather than walk all the way back to Union Station--the CMHOF has a restaurant though I don't know how good it is. Both those places will easily fill your morning. I've only been to US once, and it's a cool building, but I don't think a lot of time is needed for exploring it, just my opinion.

I've not been to Belmont, but have visited Belle Meade, but I had a car so can't comment on public transportation options.

As for your dinner plans, honkytonks aren't known for their food, but the WildHorse Saloon downtown serves food and I think there is a BBQ on Lower Broadway (can't think of the name right now) that may have music also. I am not familiar with Tribe.

The live music scene on Broadway is great! You can go from place to place and sample different kinds of music - with no cover charge. But it's really just about music, not the food in those places. We usually eat at Blackstone Restaurant and Brewery, but it's close to Vandy and you'd probably need a car to get there. Another place which I believe is on Broadway is Amerigo - it may be a chain but they have great Italian food.

I stayed at The Hermitage Hotel a few months ago and the staff recommended Puckett's as a must do for at least one meal. We stopped by for sweet tea and appetizers but did not stay for the live music. We had a good breakfast there the next morning. Our waitress said Robert's Western World is her favorite stop for music. We dropped by for drinks, but did not order food, as it seemed to be chips and hotdogs.

It doesn't sound like you will have a car? The Hermitage Home of President Andrew Jackson is a very worthwhile place to visit if you have a car.

No, not at all, as best I recall. Union Station is at the far west side of the downtown area not far from the interstate. The Hall of Fame and Ryman are farther east, closer to the river and Lower Broadway. As a point of reference Vanderbilt is west of the aforementioned interstate.

Apparently the hotel is .6 miles from Ryman and Country Music Hall of Fame, so it seems a doable walk for sure.

Any thoughts on choosing one between Belle Meade and Belmont Mansion?

Just to close this loop: I loved my one-night stay at Union Station! I visited Ryman (kinda disappointing and overpriced, but an important piece of history) and CMHOF, had lunch in a honky-tonk type place, enjoyed an outdoor concert, and walked with friends to and around Vanderbilt. Had dinner back in the hotel and went to bed early!
