Ft.Laud, Miami beach, or where??

I am planning a girls weekend for probably 4 women in there mid 30s who like to have fun and are leaving the kids at home. I need help to find a wonderful resort. Has to be in Florida. Going at the end of March. Has to be close to major airport. Need restaurants on site, great beach, great pool with bar and food outside, Nice rooms close to pool or beach, spa would be great, shopping nearby (and maybe one place to go dance!) Willing to pay for a luxury place - up to $400/night for someplace great. Would rather NOT have: too many kids running around or REALLY expensive food. Dont need trendy, or to be "seen", just really good service, good food, etc. I want to sit by the pool and order a great pina colada, and have everything be easy for 3 days. ANY SUGGESTIONS??

You do realize that's right in the middle of Spring Break? Ft. Lauderdale and Miami Beach are going to be full of drunk college students around that time.

I'm wondering if you might head up to Palm Beach. Ritzier, a bit more exclusive-- I don't know if it gets the "Girls Gone Wild" crowds. Locals, what do you think?

I'd suggest Loews Miami Beach Hotel. It seems to fit your criteria, and it's pricey enough to keep the college crowd out.

I, too, would suggest Palm Beach. Very relaxing atmosphere. However, food will probably be expensive. However, any $400 a night room will come with expensive food.

Thanks for the replies! I like the sound of Loews, or Palm Beach. Does Loews have reasonably priced restaurants on site? Is there a great beach resort in W. Palm beach or Palm beach? Also HATED all the smoking last time I was in South beach (I am allergic) but heard Florida just passed a new law of no smoking in public? true?

What airport are you flying into? If MIA, the brand new Ritz-Carlton South Beach.

If FLL the Westin Diplomat (NOT the country club).

Palm Beach either The Breakers or Boca Raton Resort.

The Loew's is a nice idea (but it is in South Beach). They're currently running a girlfriend's getaway package on the website but it's only good through Dec. Might call them to find out if it's available when you're going.

I love the Boca Resort but I think you'd want a car there.
