Ft. Myers vs. Ft. Lauderdale

Hello All,

Flying into West Palm Beach on December 31 checking out June 4.

Wife wants a good beach with a hotel right on it.

Any suggestions?

Thank you,
~Chris

Was that a misprint or are you really coming down for over 5 months? There is no contest between Ft. Myers Beach (Ft. Myers itself is about 20 miles or so from the beach) and Ft. Lauderdale. Ft. Lauderdale has a lot more to offer, and it's a heck of a lot closer than driving over to Ft. Myers and back. Ft. Myers beach is kind of red-neck and college kid heaven, no offense intended if you are either. There have been a number of recent posts on Ft. Lauderdale beach front hotels; scroll down and check them out.

Hi Chris:
How about a bit further north in Delray or Deerfield Beach? Not too far from West Palm Beach Airport. The beaches are nice and the area safe. A lot of hotels right on the beach.
Ft Myers is a bit of a haul and Ft Lauderdale about 20 miles south of West Palm Beach Airport.

Chris, if you find a hotel on the water, let me know. I've been looking for that for years. Imagine walking out of the lobby and the water is knee deep. Love it! Seriously now, I agree with Patrick and AC. Deerfield Beach and Delay is a lot nicer, especially for an almost 6 month stay.

{{Wife wants a good beach with a hotel right on it. }}

Stick with the East coast. Cantact a
real estate agent & rent a condo. I can't believe you are leaving in about
5 weeks for a 5 month stay & you have not booked something! Are you serious about this??? New Year's is the busiest time! You'll be lucky to find anything
let alone something on a beach! Good luck!
Gee Chris:
Are you sure you did not mean Jan 4? That even seems a bit short notice for Florida!
