Ft myers beach
 

We're going to ft Myers Beach in a couple of weeks. I haven't been to this area in about 5 years. Has much changed in 5 years? How is the quality of the beach itself? I remember the beach as being fairly wide with soft, white sand. It was a very safe beach for swimming.

You will see some changes in the development of properties along the beach, but the beach remains wide and sandy. The high season has it's heavy traffic and parking problems, but a june visit should be a breeze...have fun and bring the sunblock!

The beach is still white,clean, and sandy. Just returned. Enjoyed the music in front of the Launi Kai hotel and the barmaids walking to us in the sand serving us.The only problem may be an occasional stingray. Have fun.

It's still a popular place, kinda run down but lots of people having fun. Not a luxury resort area at all or a relaxing Sanibel but if you liked it 5 years ago you should still like it. It reminds me of Ft. Laud 15 years ago..nicer if you've had a few drinks.

Thanks for the replies. We live in a very quiet, resorty area. Plus, there's two teenage boys, so Sanibel is a little too quiet for them. Ft. Myers Beach should have plenty for them to do, while still appealing to my husband and me. Sometimes it's nice to go to areas not so "resort like".

Good morning...today is 5/29 and I just got back from FL yesterday and the weather was 90's, beautiful and yes the beach is still fairly wide with soft, white sand...stayed at the Casa Playa in room 803 with a wonderful view of the water and saw dolphins playing yesterday before I left...hope you have a most enjoyable time...sally

Please give details on the Casa Playa on Fort myers Beach. Clean? Friendly staff?
