Ft Launderdale, Romantic restaurants?

Hello,

Looking for an upscale, fine cusine(almost everything except steakhouse) for a speical birthday dinner for two in Ft. Lauderdale. So far I read reviews on Mark's Las Olas, Blue Moon Fish Co, and one other fish place in Pompano Beach. Requirements are: little tourists(I know I will be one too) not too loud and of course, great food/service! Any suggestions?

La Veille Maison.

Oh, wait, that might be in the Boca area. But it's very nice and romantic anyhow.

Can't do much about the tourists right now, there are plenty of them here! I can recommend Trina's, Canyon, Johnny V's on Las Olas, Cafe Matarano and Chima(which is a Brazilian steakhouse). As far as atmosphere goes, Trina across from the Ocean, is tops IMO.

non-touristy would be Cafe Seville...in NE Fort Lauderdale neighborhood. Lovely spanish food and wine. Quite romantic and Very old school. A fabulous Rioja, guitar music, candlelight, quiet but attentive service and a Paella that will make you cry could provide just what you are looking for. LMF

I am going to try out Trina based on Judyrem's and Gourmet.com's recommendation. You guys are much better than any guide books! Thanks.

Ohhh, yeah diann, Charlie's Crab on the intercoastal. If you get a table right on the water, you can't beat this place for ambiance. Wonderful and romantic.
