Ft Lauderdale Restaurants
 

Will be on vacaction in Fort Lauderdale week of May 20th. Can you recommend some nice casual restaurants (adults). Also some nice areas for snorkeling. Any other must visit sites would be appreciated.

Try Creolinas in Himarshee Village. Good Cajun food with a wonderful surly waitress named Rosemary. For a causal lunch or breakfast, try The Floridian on Las Olas Boulevard. Eclectic crowd of locals with more big haired bubble gum chewing waitress'.

The Oasis Cafe on Ft. Lauderdale beach is a nice casual restaurant. They have swinging tables outside but you can also eat inside. There are some nice outdoor restaurants and bars on the Las Olas Riverfront. If you want to see Florida the way it used to be, take an airboat ride in the everglades.

There is excellent snorkeling at John Pennecamp State park at Key Largo. There is a live reef by there. They have snorkeling tours that take you out to the reef at a very reasonable price. It is well worth the drive to Key Largo as the sea life is spectacular at the reef.

Greg, <BR> <BR>We enjoyed Pusser's on the Beach when we were in Fort Lauderdale last year. Good seafood, casual and sits right on the beach. Wait for a table outside and just relax and enjoy the food and the view!!! If you really want casual, go to Sloppy Joe's (located at Beach Place) and get a table on the balcony.....Great Key Lime Pie!!!!! <BR>Have Fun. Fort Lauderdale is great!

Try Mark's Las Olas, Sukkhothai on Sunrise Blvd., (best Thai food in Ft. Laud), Japanese Village on Las Olas, Evangeline's on Ft. Laud Beach (outstanding Sunday brunch) and Betty's, if you like soul food. Make sure you visit Riverwalk while you're in Ft. Laud.

Le Bon Crepe on Las Olas....fun outdoor tables, great desserts too.

Try Marks. Also, the Cheesecake Factory and Rainforest Cafe are both fun and located in the Sawgrass Mills Mall. This mall is huge! A great way to spend a cloudy day if you happen to have one. I was just down for 12 days and never saw a cloud once! The giant flea markets are also great! You can get everything from watches to perfumes to souvenirs etc. There is one on Sunrise Blvd that has a free circus. Cafes and restaurants around Beach Place are great for people watching. Para-sailing is everywhere but I didn't see a lot about snorkeling. South Beach os only an hour away and just driving around to check out the Art Deco district is neat. China Grill is highly recommended in South Beach. Have a great trip.
