Ft. Lauderdale Hotel Parking
I have a question concerning parking rates in hotels in Ft. Lauderdale. If I check in Friday to my hotel and check out Monday, that is a total of three nights. However, I will be using their lot on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, which is two full days and two partial days. If my hotel has a fee of ten dollars per day to use their lot, do I get charged for three days, or four days, if I stay three nights and never move my car between checking in Friday and checking out Monday? Any info would help.

If Train A leaves Phoenix at 9am traveling at a speed of 50 miles an hour...
Policies differ everywhere, why don't you just call the hotel? love roxy |
In this case I have always been charged for 4 days.

"turn it on" The reason why I am asking here instead of asking the hotel is because the policy is not going to change just because I ask the hotel. It is not like calling and asking for handicapped or a non-smoking room. I will surely find out when I get there. Since this is travel talk, I decided to ask here to see what the experience of others has been. That is what this board is for, is it not?

And as turn_it_on said, policies differ everywhere. The most expeditious route to a precise answer is to ask the hotel directly, not a bunch of well-meaning strangers.

OK. I concede. I'll call the hotel.
But gee whiz, I sure hope they don't find me unworthy of their establishment because I am concerned about parking rates. How does the saying go? "If you have to ask how much, you can't afford it?" |
Uh-oh, if you call and ask they will probably mark your account and treat you like dirt when you arrive. No. I'm only kidding. Call them.
I think I've always been charged for hotel parking by the night. If I stay four nights I'm charged for four days of parking. |
Nuwaver, when you have an answer, please post it here, okay? I'm curious as to what the hotel says. For budget purposes, I'd plan on paying for 4 days, and if they only charge you for 3, that would be a bonus!
I stayed at a hotel that charged $12/day and when I left on a Friday afternoon I was fortunate enough to leave when the pay booth was not being manned, so I didn't have to pay a dime for the parking. I guess there's a plus for not having it put onto your bill (I had to get a ticket when I parked.) |
Reminds me of parking in Ajaccio, Corsica along the waterfront. We were parked in a very expensive lot for three days and nights, but the hotel clerk told us that the gates are open between 9 PM and 9 AM. So we could leave in the morning each day before 9 and never did pay a penny for parking. We'd return in the afternoon, get a ticket, but again leave the next day without paying. What a system.
