Ft Lauderdale airport

Need opinions on Ft Lauderdale Airport. Thanks.

What do you want to know about it? The last time I flew through there (two years ago) it was under some sort of construction and the place was a total pit. I've never seen a more tired, miserable looking airport. Lots of exposed pipe-work, dirty gray/brown carpet and tacky 70s decor. Fares were significantly cheaper than Miami though.

The last time I went thru there, it was certainly easier to get around than MIA....however, most smaller airports DO have easier access than the thier international counterparts.

I honestly didn't mind it a bit.

It's a good alternate to MIA. If you're Keys-bound, it'll add another 30-45 minutes onto your drive.

I went in and out of here in early summer. It was a great airport. Not a problem with anything. I think it is a great airport as is the city of Ft. Lauderdale. No complaints.

Its a great airport and so much nicer than Miami-it is so easy to get in and out of. I was last there in Feb.2002 and I go every year. If I am going to Miami I still fly into here and take Tri-County express transportation to Miami.

FLL is much easier to navigate and deal with than MIA, and it's fresh and clean. They only caveat I would offer is that during spring break, it can get very crowded with cruise ship passengers (which increasingly appear to be hordes of college kids)leaving/arriving from Port Everglades.
