Ft. Lauderdale?

Hello, Thinking of vacationing in
Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and wanted to know what activities or entertainment is there to do in Ft. Lauderdale. Thinking about going in November. Hope the weather is pretty warm and nice during that time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated?

Hi Janny and welcome to Fodors. Looks like you are new. Your question is pretty broad. There are lots of people here who know a lot about Ft. Lauderdale but in order to answer your question we need to know a little more about what is important to you: water sports, cultural activities, sightseeing, beach bumming, fine dining, seafood dives, etc. Will you be alone, with a family or a spouse? Perhaps you are a shopaholic and want info on places to shop. We need to know more.

The weather is usually warm in November, at least by the rest of the country's standards and the humidity will have abated. It is a little off season as the summer vacationers are gone and the snow birds (seasonal residents) are just starting to arrive.

Do a search for Fort Lauderdale and you will find many posts on this great tourist destination. You can then perhaps find more information on which to base your questions.

Fort Lauderdale is centrally located for day trips to Miami Beach, Miami and the Palm Beaches so there is an abundance of things to do. LilMsFoodie

I went to Ft. Lauderdale area the first full week in November and the highs were low to mid 80s, low was 64 at night (never cooler than this). I'd take a windbreaker when walking on the beach, there can be a cool breeze in the evening.

Sorry, should of been more specific. We are in our early 30's, not big on seafood or watersports, but DH is. Like to sightsee and do some shopping. Would love to stay right on the beach if possible. Just wondering what activities does Ft. Lauderdale have to offer.

Thanks!!

Definitely take an Everglades tour. I have provided the link to the one that I took. It was great. Also, if you like key lime pie, you must go to Bob Roth's New River Groves. Their key lime pie is out of thios world. We stopped there on the way back from the Everglades. The "main street" in Ft Lauderdale is Las Olas Boulevard. Lots a great restaurants and shopping there.
