From Mi to Marathon Which way is best?
Looking to find the best way to drive from Michigan to Marathon, we have 2 days to drive. Leaving in the evening on a Tuesday and must be there the early afternoon of Thusday. Any suggestions?

Wow if you mean Marathon in the Florida Keys you have an intense drive ahead of you.My guess is about 1400 miles in distance so here's hoping you have multiple drivers.I'd suggest going to one of the trip planning sites on the web plugging in your start and finish addresses, request the most direct route and then get a lot of sleep.

Sister and family have done this from southern Ohio. They take 75 south and just go. You might look at going across Ohio on whatever intestate can do that for you and hit I77. Take that south to Columbia, SC, get I26 there and take it to I95 at Charleston. Then I95 south. I would guess you would need to make it to Charleston at least for your first night's stop--maybe even Jacksonville. If you are very far up in Michigan I don't think you're gonna make it.
I assume you are talking abnout Marathon in Florida. It is about 1500 miles from Detroit and drive time, from Detroit, is going to be close to 30 hours. Factor in time it takes from wherever you are starting the trip. Unless you intend driving straight through evening Tuesday to early afternoon is cutting it a little too close. Look at it this way based on 30 hour drive time. Drive 6 hours on Tuesday evening and 6 hours on Thursday means you will have to drive at least 18 hours on Wednesday. Here is the scenerio:
Tuesday - 6pm to 12am
Wednesday - 7 am to 1am
Thursday - 7 am to 1pm
Suggestion - leave Tuesday morning, early
and drive at least 650 miles. Do the same on WEdnesday

If you are talking Marathon Fla you are nuts.

I-75 is your best bet to the Florida Turnpike. Get off at Homestead. Have done I-77 and hate the West Virginia Turnpike with a passion. We call is the MFT if that gives you any idea, too many trucks, too many grades and curves. It will take you about 22 hours. It's not bad if you change drivers and keep on trucking. Take some good music along...
