French Quarter Festival
I am going to French Quarter Festival this April. Would like some tips on where to go and what to see. It seems like there is a lot to do. Basically, I want to know the "can't miss" activities.
We are staying at the Prince Conti Hotel and have reservations at The Bourbon House and Emeril's. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks |
I'm so bummed to be missing the French Quarter Festival this year. My taste in music causes me to spend lots of time in Jackson Square, the stages on the river bank generally don't have as much music that I like. Just a matter of personal taste. I also like the jazz bands on Bourbon, we've gotten so we buy cheap chairs at Walgreens so we can sit.
My best advice is just to wander. Stop where you hear something you like. The food stands have really good stuff at cheap prices. It's crowded, but we've always been able to find a place to sit. Great fun, wish I was going. Jean |
Anyone going to French Quarter Festival this year? We went last year and had an absolute blast, and are seriously thinking about it this year, but are having a harder time finding a place to stay (can you tell I LOVE that place)? Thanks for any input.

tjans, try bed and breakfasts (www.bbnola.com) or some of the smaller hotels. I suspect the larger hotels may be contracted with FEMA and workers through the summer.
FQ Festival is definitely "ON" for 2006 and will be a blast! |
tjans, I just found out yesterday that my planned trip to Quarter Fest isn't going to happen this year. In the next hour I have to call our B&B and cancel our reservations. E-mail me if you might be interested in contacting them after I cancel. [email protected]

Wander, don't make a schedule, do as many others do - take a blanket and claim your spot near the river. TAKE SUNSCREEN!!! Enjoy.
