Depends on what you want to do..if you plan to party all night, you'll be in good company. We just came back from NO, stayed right outside the Quarter on Canal and found that perfect. Bourbon St. is very noisy and crowded.

I liked the Bourbon Orleans. We had a balcony, and I loved to sit and look over all the roof tops in the French quarter. You could here Bourbon St. though. We just slept with ear plugs.

Bourbon Orleans gets mixed reviews on most sites and from what I've heard personally it can be hit or miss. A new manager is in place and he's trying to fix some of the problems. I agree with Leona and Mike that some rooms in this hotel are guaranteed to be noisy. If this bothers you, ask for a courtyard (quiet) room.

I still suggest the Wyndham at Canal Place over the B.O. if your budget permits.

I tried to post here last night twice and the fodors system would not work. So, let's hope it works now!

Ok, I stayed at the Bourbon Orleans several years ago and liked it. I thought the room was lovely and even a decent size for a NO hotel. We actually had 4 adults in the room (for only 2 nights) and it was bearable. Of course, we were out of the room for most of the day. The location of the hotel makes it very easy to walk around the quarter and get back to the hotel quickly, if you need a break. Our room was on a side street so that may have helped with the noise level. I cannot remember that being an issue, and I'm the type that would have been bothered by that! From our balcony, we could see the back of the St. Louis and a corner of Bourbon. It was interesting to sit there at night and watch the craziness on Bourbon. I would stay here again. Oh, one more thing, the pool area is quite pretty and is nice if you're there during warm weather.
