Free Wi-Fi Hotspots on Las Vegas Strip
I hate to sound like a cheapo. But ... we are staying at a hotel on the strip, and they are asking $13 per day for internet usage. I think this is outrageous since most hotels now have free wifi. I only need access to check emails during my hotel stay, and check my local paper .... maybe 20 minutes per day tops. My question: is there any place on the strip where you can park your laptop for a few minutes, and get on for free. I don't want to go to a library or walk really far .... do the hotel lobbies, or ANYTHING, have free Wifi?
Thanks in advance for any responses.

What part of the strip (which hotel)?
I think the Apple store at the Fashion Show Mall has free wifi (this is near Wynn/Encore, Treasure Island, Venetian, Mirage etc) ... are you sure your hotel isn't charging for in-room service but offering it free in the lobby? This is becoming more prevelant ... at Wynn/Encore recently, for example, some of the casual dining places offer free wifi, and I thought it was free in the lobby of the Venetian/Palazzo complex.

We are staying at the Flamingo
Found this tidbit re: free wifi at the Flamingo on the 'net, from July 2010 so it's probably still true ...
The Flamingo Hotel on the strip has free wifi - listed under "backstage", but you have to either go up to the 3 floor where the convention rooms are ( best way to get up there is to go up the escalator that are on your left if you are walking towards margaritaville ) or you can sit in the margaritaville chair. It depends how long you are going to be on the net, they have comfortable sofa chairs up on the 3rd floor, if you think you will be on it for awhile.
