Thanks for that info. I was at a Giant's game, and saw that announcement on the scoreboard, and my husband just rolled his eyes. I think I'll go! Has anyone been before?

I haven't but there were a LOT of people there last year.

"San Francisco Opera and the San Francisco Giants welcomed an audience of over 15,000 people to AT&T Ballpark on Friday, September 28. The crowd enjoyed Saint-Saëns’s opera Samson and Delilah, transmitted in high definition live from the War Memorial Opera House stage to AT&T Park's 3200-square-foot Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Vision scoreboard. Question: Can you be BOTH an opera fan and a baseball fan?

Dayenu Jun 3rd, 2009 10:59 AM

Our children went last year, and have tickets already for this year. It's free, but tickets required. One of them is an amateur opera singer, so they go to a free or movie opera any chance they get.

yk, this blurb from the website addresses aspects of that question:

"[this offers] the rare opportunity to eat hot dogs, peanuts and garlic fries while listening to glorious opera."

Just visualize who will fit into that category, and you can imagine some great people watching!

You can get four free tickets. I love SF!

I wish I could go! Or, should I say, I wish there were something similar here in Boston!

Dayenu, how "amateur" is your child? Does he/she sing with a professional company?
