Patrick,
SO and I had my first ever garage sale in Oct after returning from our May - Sept travels. I got an offer for my house from a couple who visited and closed in Dec without an agent and "as is". Best wishes. M |
Wow mikemo, congrats on the sale of your house. We have been trying to sell ours fsbo and what a pia it is. I have had every realtor in a 100 mile radius call me. They are sly little devils pretending to be interested in buying my house and showing up with sales pitch in hand..Maybe I need to have a garage sale?
|
M'mo,
I would have dropped by but I already own a garage. Trish'co, You guys having another GTG? Nobody told me! :^o Rant: Not a darn thing. Rave: Even when it's bad, it's alllllll gooooooood! :)>- |
Rant: the smoke-and-mirrors social security flapdoodle. To make privatization work, economy has to do much better than it's been doing. If economy does much better than it's been doing, social security won't need fixing.
Rave: Go Patriots. |
A couple of Fodorites have seen plans/pics/views of the new house in SMdA and want to consider a GTG there.
Maybe September if we are settled in as it's the best fiesta month and the weather is great. M |
RAVE: Man, am I excited! I just booked the U-Haul to head down to Naples tomorrow for Patrick's big yard sale. Yahooooo!
RANT: Cancel that. I have plenty of old stuff of my own. It will only depress me to see more of it. But I hope your mom does well at her sale, Patrick. And don't let anyone talk you down! RAVE: I'm alive. My son and husband are totally terrific people. And maybe it will be a beautiful weekend, fingers crossed. RANT: This ss thing is scarey. As is the economy. I hope and pray the bubble doesn't break in the real estate market. |
Rave: the student nurses I've been teaching, who are going to make wonderful clinicians. They see the problems in the system, they're politically aware, and that isn't stopping them from wanting to enter a difficult and often misunderstood profession.
No rants today! :) |
M'mo,
How far's the ocean? ((#)) B-) |
Kal,
PDF! Check a map - SMdA is in the mountains at the virtual geographic center of MX, but maybe a 5 1/2 drive to PV or the Pacific coastal resorts near there. M |
So I better bring a lot of fishing line, si?
One of the "Sand Bar Irregulars" we meet each year on Kauai used to vacation at SMdA and said good things about it...and if the lovely and always delightful Ms Marilyn gives it a ((Y)), you just may see me and Senorita Kal on an express burro to su casa grande! |
Rant: Make note of Feb. 4, 2005. George Bush has announced today through his official mouth piece Condaliza Rice that Iran is the world's worst harborer of terrorists. Today is the start of Bush's next war.
In case some do not remember, the Iraq war started with a speech in 2002 about a so called "Axis of Evil" and a promise to "rid the world of weapons of mass destruction". Thousands more Americans will probably die in this new war. Sorry if that disturbs anyone but Bush did it before and he promised he would do it again. Hundreds of billions will be spent. We will have another "Iraq" on our hands and we will have no way of getting out. Mark this day on your calendar and defend your sons and daughters who are thinking about a military future. |
Rave: We're going to Hawaii on Sunday!
|
wemr--I normally stay out of political discussions. The only thing I will say is that I am glad there are people like my dh who served in the military. He had a long career and is retired now, and if our son chooses the same path, we will support him. We were just on base today and felt very honored to be in the presence of such selfless people. Ok...now back to my usual ignoring political stuff.
|
Meetshare~ I've been a hospital based RN for 28 years now(non-stop). I am still impressed people choose to enter the profession and always a wee bit humbled by the "starry eyed" nature of those same folks.
Please lt me go on record as saying, the folks who have impressed me over the years (next to some of my patients and their families) have been those in the trenches with me. Not only do they have amazing strength of character, they are the funniest people I have ever known. |
mms, I also had a stint in the military. All that pride and flag waving looks very impressive when you are on or around a base especially when you are young. Its almost hypnotic. I've been there....as a teen and as an adult. The service has a way of sucking you in at first. I support my children just like you do and I will protect them and warn them about getting involved in an Iraq.
The President at the time does not always get it right and lots of Americans have died because of his lack of judgement, and will die because of "the president's" lack of judgement. This president Will start another war. Remember February 4th. 2005. |
Rave, my pooch had his stitches removed and his tumor was benign BIG :)
Finally saw the Long Engagement, fun to recognice places I've seen in Paris and Brittany. Rant: I've put pounds on because of all the partying to make up for lost time. |
Rave: People in the medical field as PamSF is talking about. True angels.
Rave: Our military and their families, no way to ever thank them. Rave: Spring time in the Sacramento Valley (even though it is still winter). Blue sky and sunshine has really been enjoyed. Rave: Our new library with all windows on the back wall overlooking our creek and the park. Beautiful! Rants: Not really anything. Life is too short to rant and rave! At least it seems like it today. Wishing everyone a fun and happy weekend. |
Where is Marilyn? I was hoping for a Lulu update! ((@))
|
Rave - warm sunny day, no work either, I ma off for the whole month.
No rants. Mikemo - We are waiting with much anticipation for your GTG in Mexico!!! did you say you will post photos of your casa? Yes, where is Marilyn? I bet she is kicking up her heels at a Fabulous party on a veranda overlooking the sea with great drinks with umbrellas in them!!! |
Rave: The wonderful children and their families who always contribute when our school community asks. They are 75% free and reduced lunch and 60% Southeast Asian. We have raised at least $10,000 this year at a school with 240 students in the inner city. All the money has gone for field trips, fire victims, tsunami victims, etc.
Rant: Those who pull up a thread condemning the fantastic immigrants that I know. |
