Hi, seetheworld, we were posting at the same time so I've just read your R&R's. I hope you are OK, it's scary to have heart trouble!! I have a minor condition, but it was scary the first time I had to go in and get it checked out. Anyway, if you haven't seen it already, there's news about my job search just above your stuff. Hi PM, I didn't see your post. Arrrggghhh, that would have made me very angry! I would have told them the toilet didn't work and you have mal-functioning fire alarms or something, lol :D
It must be very reassuring to know that your resumes is bringing in the calls. The interview process that you outlined is the new-fangled type. My son went on a number of those (one took the whole day - that's the job he actually took). Good luck, PM, I know eventually the <b>right</b> job will come your way :) |

Rave: Spent last weekend on Kelley's Island with our kids and grandkids. A wonderful, golfcart driving three days! Rave: Will be spending Thanksgiving with our other set of kids and grandkids in Texas with a side trip to New Orleans for three days. Yea!! Rant: Lower level still not complete. Its been a while-Happy Friday everyone!
RAVE: We leave for England in just under 3 weeks!! RANT: A 9 hour flight with a 17 month old. Wish us, and everyone else onboard, lots of luck! RAVE: My little one has learned 2 more words. RANT: One of them is a solid and repeated "NO". |
Rant: Here I am joining the group with sick kitties - our little Worf has hepatic lipidosis. Same thing that OWJ's poor little Shayna had. He's scheduled to get a stomach tube put in today.
Rave: The wonderful kind people at our regular vet's and the Veterinary Emergency Clinic here in downtown Toronto who are incredibly kind and gentle with Worf and with us. Also Worf's fan club who have been calling and e-mailing for progress reports since this whole thing started. Rant: We're moving across the country in less than 4 weeks and all I can think about is the kitty - packing hasn't even started yet. Rave: There is a good chance he can get well, and then we're off to our new home in Victoria. Have a great weekend, everybody! |

rave: a very nice long weekend in san diego last weekend for a friends wedding. i liked san diego's downtown. my trip report: there are cleaner cities out there than new york. :-" had some trouble getting home sunday, the flight was diverted due to weather in new york. jfk, and traffic was a mess. took 2 hrs to get to manhattan from jfk. :(( rave: i may have an opportunity to go to iceland! just have to think if i afford it in addition to my mexico trip in december, or if i should put mexico on hold. ((?)) rave: my family and friends. ((#)) =D> rant: just one...i saw a dead roach in my refridgerator in a 5th floor walk up this week! :-o so much for new york glamour. jorr: what a relief! enjoy the house's new look. owj...i like bueller! my cat's not just 2 years old yet. i only get to see him when i'm home on long island. icee...where, may i ask did you grow up? that's interesting. my town was over 20,000. :D |
Rave: Headed out for vacation this weekend. Can't wait. Two vacations in one summer, heck in one year, has never happened before.
Time doesn't allow me to respond to each poster but you are all in my prayers whether for your personal health, the health of a family member or a beloved pet. Rave: Every Friday I can sit for a few minutes and think about what I have to Rave about in my life. I find that this exercise has helped me search for the good, put the bad in perspective. At this point I would tell them just about anything if I thought it would save my job. I have thought about telling them about the office ghost. I have seen no evidence of a haunting, but over the years we have had a couple of workers who left our office after a short time. They claimed there is an evil spirit here and they cannot work under these conditions. I have considered the possibility that it's the ghost that likes to set off the fire alarm at the most inconvenient moments, but at least he has a sense of humor so I can live with that. |
Hi PM. Yes, I'm okay - just some faulty wiring that I live with. I go in for a complete overhaul and maintenance check in 3 months. (Sound like I'm talking about my car, huh? Easier that way).
LOL - I remember all of that stuff from you past R&R PM! Office ghosts!?! BTW, I love your sense of humor :D Cassandra & CAPH: WEBCAM? Can you imagine?! There are just some things better left unknown. I will miss our trips to MA, CAPH. Rave: Another gorgeous week here in Massachusetts... After the rough winter and spring we had, we needed it! Rave/Rant: School starts the day after Labor Day here. Time for school shopping and gearing up for fall - boy the summer is too short here! Rave: Spent a great weekend in Newport, RI, took a harbor cruise, watched the sunset from the dock, what a gorgeous place to visit! Rave: Planning Lake Champlain trip to VT for Labor Day weekend, got great Entertainment rate @ Wyndham for $119/nt.(vs. $169 best rate)! Rave: Chores done and mostly good times for lots of here onboard. I know how relieved I was when I finished a three level deck last year (Deckscapes was the brand and its holding well). People thought I was nuts, but with some help from one friend it got done eventually. Salsa hands here too. Does anyone want some tomatoes? is my standard opening phrase.
Rant: That so many of us are treated like meat in the workplace. Loyalty on both sides is not reciprocated, and older workers (like me) are often left high and dry. So true, and it does get hard to remember that sometimes a black hole turns into an open door to something much better. I know how tense the job market/scene can make it for many. Rave: Healthy family is such a gift. But yes what is it that insomnia is back with me also! And it was gone for years. Maybe it is atmospheric or something! 3 nights this week I was up by 3:30am again and that was it. Hope the weekend travels and moves go well, pets stay perky, and everybody gets to have to some real FUN! OH yes, after years my cockatiel Sidney is back eating pasta and rice again like there is no tomorrow. Go figure! |
Hope everyone's kittens/pets are feeling better and all the paint comes out! :) Our dog has spent the summer smelling like fish b/c she just can't stay out of the lake in this heat!((&))

Seetheworld re: webcam : Neither we nor son can "see" the other without permission. We set up webcam "appointments", usually on Sundays, just to have longer chat than IM and see how each other are. It's very comforting if one or the other is weathering rough seas. swalter: good thing the result is worth it -- I spent 9 months so sick, 24/7, that I could hardly wait to deal with whatever delivery might entail (good thing, too -- it wasn't pretty). |
