Freaky Friday Rants & Raves 6-10
Rant: six of my Colorado Spruce have a fatal fungal disease and are in decline. Rave: My dog quit following me to the road when I mow along-side of it. He use to be a car chaser. Rant: The Minnesota legislature is about to hold land owners responsible for the expensive clean-up of meth labs found on their property. The cost burden should be placed on the creeps who rent the home, apartment or land who set up the meth labs. A bill should be attached which states that a property owner does not have to rent to people with a drug history. Its only fair. Most meth lab operators in the mid-west are meth addicts. |

Rave: I think I'm in love.
With my job. (Just finished 90 days) Rave: When you're in love, I guess the world falls in love with you! I got two inquiries from other employers today. That was the <b>fourth</b> inquiry from a potential employer this week alone! Rant: Summer reruns. (Hey, I gotta complain about something!) |
Rant-My kitchen renovation is still going on.
Rave-Eventually I am going to have a lovely new kitchen. Rant-With all of the money being spent, I'll have to start making more food and less reservations. Rave-The hideously rainy, damp and cold "spring" here in Massachusetts seems to be over. Rant-The season has unfortunately fast forwarded to hot and humid mid-summer type weather. RANT: After 9 years (K thru 8th), today is my son's last day of grammar school. It's been a big part of his (and my life) and he's starting a new chapter - high school!
I'm going to drop him off in a few minutes and then come home to have a good cry. All these memories, like the first day of kindergarten, are flooding back. (Moms out there, you know how I feel). RANT: The 20th soldier from the Buffalo / western NY region died in the war. This area has lost more soldiers than any other area, and as the newspaper and local news stations cover these deaths (as they should) and the local impact it has on their families and communities,we are constantly reminded of how truly horrible war can be. My aunt's neighbor just returned minus an arm and leg. Heartbreaking. RAVE: The brave men and women who put their lives on the line for the U.S.A. Have a truly wonderful weekend, everyone! RANT: It was 90 degrees in Buffalo yesterday. 90 degrees in early June!!!! And extremely high humidity. We don't even have our air conditioners in the windows yet. RAVE: It was 90 degrees yesterday! Whoo hoo.....summer has arrived with a bang!!!! |

Rant: I am still in the clutches of post vacation depression.
Rave: We had absolutely perfect vacation three week vacation in Spain Rant: After planning and postponing this trip for over three years I feel like an empty-nester! I don't have a goal in my vacation planning life ;) Rave: I get to select a fresh destination and start planning a new vacation. Rant: If I could only break this Spain addiction Rave: the Pacific coast awaits, or maybe Machu Picchu, perhaps ALASKA :) |
Rant: Jr. bacon cheesburger at Wendy's now $1/29.
Rant/rave: it's raining again. We need the rain, but I have yard work to do. Guess I get to sleep in this weekend. Rave: I'm in a better mood than last Friday. Rave: visiting with friends I have seen in a while. |
Rave: Seeing my college buds that I met 32 years ago for a weekend of shopping, dining and girl talk!
Double Rave: We got rooms in Atlanta at the Intercontinental Buckhead for $65! Rant: Rain. Eeva, you lucky. I'm in withdrawals right now. |
RAVE: North Carolina Wine Festival tomorrow at Tanglewood Park!!! Boy, am I gonna eat a lot of Smiley's BBQ and sip a lot of good wine! :p
RAVE (better be!): Awaiting results this morning of blood panel, after exercising and dieting for a year (as of 6/22.) Cross your fingers for me ... 45 lbs. off, but will the numbers be great? RAVE: Leaving for Savannah and Florida a week from today for a 10-day vacation. Am so excited to actually get in the Gulf waters for the first time! ;;) RANT: The heat and humidity have arrived in Raleigh! RAVE: Summer has arrived in Raleigh... Rave: Celebrating the Flag Day festivities in Hudson, NY tomorrow. BF gets to see his family.

Rave: One more week of school for the kiddies! Rant: Five more days to the " big 40" Rave: Planning my baby girl's pool party for her birthday in 2 weeks. I'm picturing 20 nine-year-olds yelling "Marco"! Rave: New England weather finally feels like summer! Pool is up to 80 degrees! Best wishes to all for a happy and healthy week ahead! |
Rave: My daughter is going to her first dance tonight - 6th grade graduation. Feeling a lot like BuffaloGirl right now. She's been at this school since she was 3 (the day care center is part of the facility).
Rave/Rant: She's heading to the big scary middle school. Her class right now is 60 kids and next year there will be 260. But she's smart enough to hold her own. Maybe she'll get lucky and have Eeva as a teacher. Prayers for all those in need. Best wishes for those headed for their vacatons. |

Jorr: I think you CAN discriminate regarding drugs. You can not refuse to rent for age, color, race, etc.....but if someone has a wart on their nose (example) and you hate it you don't have to rent to them. RAVE: My ankle is healing and my lower level is 3/4 done! They are installing doors and woodwork today. RANT: None. Have a great weekend everyone. |
Rant: US Train travel. Why can't we have a Passenger train network instead of "shared rail" with freight? When DDE instigated the National Hwy. Sys. we developed the best Interstate travel in the world although I think truck travel should have its own lane since we ship most goods via the highways. Interstae travel in this country (once a leader)needs an overhaul which should start with our Dept. of Transportation.

Rave: Tomorrow's my birthday! Atlanta Film Festival starts and hubby is taking me to one of the films. Rant: Two more months in my miserable job. Two more months... Sad: On my way to work, I saw a woman get hit by a car. She walked out into the crosswalk when the light was yellow and kept going, even with cars coming. Guy couldn't avoid hitting her. She was sitting up and talking as I called 911. Never saw anything like it in my life. |

rave: first week in the apartment. against all odds, i feel pretty good about it! :-> rave: i must include this...now that i'm in new york, went to my college bar with a dear friend who i went to college with (friends since high school). it was great! felt like old times! =D> rave: had a nice time with 2 of my cousins last night. :-B rave: going to the beach for the weekend! iceeu2...care to share how you got such a great rate? Rave: yesterday's bike ride was the first time this year it's been warm enough for a tank top and sunscreen.
Rave: the Rib Fest is in town, and it's free parking and admission at noon again today. Rave: spouse out for some early morning golf today -- his favorite activity. (Teensy rant: he forgot to smooch me before he left!) Life is good . . . no real rants this week. Wishing a great weekend to all! |

Rave: John Kerry grades worse than Bush's at Yale. Rant: Bush giving $750 million in aid to African nations. That should go to military bebefits. |
