rant: posters who still can't figure out that a post like "help!!!" is really dumb.

rave: Fargo ND will continue to push for a smoking ban in all bars and restaurants.

rant: Land of the Free, slowly being converted into one of the most repressive, totalitarian countries on Earth.

rave: one more reason to never visit Fargo ND

Rave- It promises to be a beautiful day here in New Jersey and the yard is in full bloom.

Rave- Just completed my travel plans for my family's first cruise in November.

Rant- My allergies are also in full bloom.

Rave - Barcelona has banned the cruel sport of bullfighting!

Rave - it is a beautiful day in DC and the DC Filmfest is occurring and I am seeing 4 films in the next 3 days.

Rant - I have a big deadline next week and will have to work part of this weekend.

Rant: DH & I have been to 14 weddings together and we heard of our first divorce this week.

Rant: Working on the house - "When you have the money, you don't have the time, when you have the time, you don't have the money" - why is that always so true??

Rant: No trips planned anytime soon due to previous rant.

Rave: I've almost got all the grout picked out from my nails.

Rave-leaving for Florida in a few hours
Rant-to help my Dad recover from a fall while he's doing rehab at a nursing home and to take care of his girlfriend who is in the mid stages of alzheimers.

Rant: Cousin is still recovering from military wounds received in Iraq @ Walter Reed.

Rave: Nephew's back safe from Iraq @ base in TX, coming home on May 17th! We're having a big party in his honor!

Rant: He may have to go back :(

Rave: We're all safer because of our brave military - Bless them all and bring them home safely.

No other rants - many families aren't able to welcome home their loved ones. How could I complain?

Rant: It is raining on Oaks Day and rain/storms are predicted for Derby.

Rave: It was a beautiful week for the Derby festival.

Rave: Only 62 days to Italy!!!!!!

It is my daughters birthday this weekend/three day party ((^))
We picked out and ordered tile for the kitchen/mudroom/bath.
Rant:
We will be tearing up floors and the house will be a mess again.
Grudge holders/people who just don't quit already!!

Hey Scarlett, its our dd's b-day too - she just turned 17 and we're having both her friends and the family parties this weekend. (That is my big RAVE -- our dd is a joy! :) ) And i'm sure your celebration will be doubly fun and blessed with your recent good news!

Rant: its tough finding places for long weekend getaways this summer. College age son got a wonderful summer internship but that means our three week road-trips are over. :( We want to take a few 3-4 night trips and i'm finding its tougher to plan those than our out west cross country adventures!!??

(btw scarlett, did you see my lil note to you about nyc under my destin trip report?)

ellen! I just read your message on the Destin thread. Yes, it is lovely here but I am still quite homesick. Thanks for the info on the Blue Angels, there have been similar jets flying over every afternoon about 3:00-4:00..noisy & a big thrill every time! We will see them here in the show in the fall.
Basking Ridge is a lovely town. We bought Pup somewhere out in that direction ((&))

rant: Jor's rant and rave. Are the posters dumb or just confused with their travel choices??? It's much better to be too kind to them, than mean.

rave: It's a beautiful day! and I'm headed out to Treasure Island Park for a beachwalk.

Rant: my son is moving out this weekend. My youngest baby is starting his independent life.

Rave: finished large volunteering project yesterday, feel so releived!

I haven't done this in a while but..
RAVE: I got a promotion today at work. :) That means more money I can save for my trip to Scotland next year!

RANT: Rain all weekend long. So much for getting some work on the outside of my house done. :(

RAVE: I don't have to work on my house this weekend. :)

rave - So much to be thankful for I'm whining about travelling

Rave: Winter is over!!

It's gone, finished, kaput, done, ended, over over over!!!!

rave and rant: Overwhelmed w/stuff to get done, and instead I volunteered to go on a big girl scout weekend camping trip (250 girls)w/my daughter's troop. It is hard to give up one's time (and it's a lovely weekend, the garden is calling too). I admire people who volunteer w/kids alot more than I do, the sports coaches, troop leaders, etc. They are the big raves.

rant: Husband has not gotten a diagnosis for chronic severe fatigue and associated symptoms for over a year. This is a man who used to do triathlons before this came about. His Dr. has been treating him for depression and it's not depression. I am getting very assertive now and taking him to be tested for sleep apnea, endocrinology disorders, and other things. The rave is my former life as an R.N., so thankful I have the knowledge and background.

Rave: NY trip over Memorial Day w/daughter is shaping up. Found out by checking NY event site recommended on here that there is a big street festival on 7th Ave. a block from our hotel on that Sunday. Poster "mp" and others on here have been wonderful helpers.

Rave: I read these posts (ellen's son, faina's son) from parents letting go of their kids, and it motivates me so much to do what I can with my kids NOW.

Congratulations on the promotion, memejw!! I'm toasting you w/my bottled water right now.

Rave - My other half has planned a weekend trip for us Memorial weekend.

Rave - She won't tell me where.

Rave: I am moving to Fort Lauderdale Rant: I HAVE to move, and I hate moving!

Rant: one of our neighbors complained to the home owner's assoc. about a covered car in our driveway that's not being driven :@)

Sam--your post brought tears to my eyes...my dh recently retired from the military after 20 years.

rant--I'm tired from running around all week and its gorgeous outside.

rave--I'm tired because my mom was here from CA this week and we have been busy. Even visited a few older family friends in nursing homes. had a spa day though to relax:) tried a new restaurant in PDX that my brother was the project manager for and its already a hit!

Rant: My old house needs a $%&#load of work done to it and I don't have the $$$$ to do it. Oh well, where there's a will, there's a way!

Rave: My favorite nephew (who attends Univ. of Vermont) just got himself a student summer research position at the Univ. of Buffalo. My 12 year old son is in awe of his cousin and is so excited to be able to spend time with him this summer!

Rant: I still have 3 hours left at work today. :(

Rave: It's a beautiful day and a beautiful weekend to come!

Rave: The mountains are out!

Rave: I have a cool, cool bottle of Vernaccia di San Gimignano at home.

emd, my mother has chronic fatigue. I understand what you're going through. Sounds like your husband has a wonderful wife.

RANT: That annoying spiderman popup on Fodor's page.

Rave: It's Friday and a beautiful weekend is in store for Southern California.

Rant: People in the company who have absolutely nothing to do with your division who think they're "advertising experts" and try to tell you how to do your job... Or better yet, point out how they believe you're doing it wrong!

Rave: Never letting the above rant ruin the weekend! Time for a cold frosty Bud Light!

Rave - The weather is beautiful in NYC, and I'm heading to a roof party tonight

Rant - I'm coming down with a cold! The only time I ever catch a cold is within days of flying (I flew home from Miami on Monday). I hope the cold-eeze works!

Rave: Got a great weekend airfare deal for my son to visit his girlfriend in NYC.
Rave: Another beautiful Spring weekend in Southern California!
Rant: That once again we have to worry about our young people who are involved in a military conflict.

Rant: Box elder beetles. Every spring we have an invasion of them and the first have begun to make their appearance. They are harmless, but annoying in large numbers. My research says there is nothing you can do. Anyone have a different opinion?

Rave: I am running/walking the Human Race next weekend to raise money for Wildcare, a wildlife rehab hospital and nature education center. So far I've received about $600 in "sponsorships," with $20 the most common amount. What great friends I have!

Rant: Lost my digital camera on American Airlines last week.
Rave: Got a new one delivered today.
Rant: It's more complicated than my old one, and the old one is discontinued!
Rave: Going to the Florida Keys next week and will be spending 4 weeks there!
