Congrats CD on 44 years. Makes our puny 24 seem like nothing.

As the Principal of our kids high school says..."have a great day, or not. Its your choice".

Rant: TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES

Rant/Rave: 25 family members coming for Thanksgiving.

Rant/Rave: 15 of them staying at our house for the week, including 6 kids under 5.

Rave: I know how to cook.

Rave: There's a poster on the Europe board (awbaker) who seemed to be living a parallel life with me (kids the same age, vacationing to all the same places). I emailed her to chat about traveling to Italy with kids, and after a few email exchanges we discovered that we both have a connection to a small farming town in KS and that our families know each other! What a small world!

Rave: I love my kids. They're the best! ((L))

Happy Friday, Everyone!

Rave: It's Friday and the weather is cooling off here. It's a nice fall looking cloudy day.

Rant: I just returned from 11 days vacation with two toddlers.

Rave: My favorite vacation memories, my 3 year old son telling the babysitter "no kissing me because I have a cold", my almost 2 year old walking around the pool in her leopard spotted bikini talking with everyone she met, both my kids dancing on stage with the folk dancers at a restaurant, the wide eyed look in both their eyes when we first walked onto Main Street at Disney, and both my kids waking up at 5:00 a.m. because they saw a giraffe out our hotel window.

Meesthare Nov 19th, 2004 04:55 AM

Rave: Its a sunny day here in the British Virgin Islands - we've been rained out for the past couple of weeks so it is good to finally see the sun.

Life is wonderful and I am grateful so no rants. Have a great weekend all!

Diana Nov 19th, 2004 05:16 AM

Hi Enya!

I sponsor a CCF child on Dominica named Kimani (have for 8 years), and hope to see him in January for the first time if the cruise I am going on is still going there instead of Grenada. What a RAVE that would be!

I know you live in the Caribbean. I travel there frequently - I've seen your posts over on the other board - so I wanted to sponsor a child there.

Wait till you start getting cards and letters - great stuff! I just sent him out a big package of brightly-colored school supplies and wish I could be there to see his face when he gets them.

Bonnie,
It's never too warm for me anywhere! Congrats on your weight loss. Super!

Ryan,
Your trip sounds great, and I wish I had been able to see your daughter shmoozing in her bikini. Make sure you get her some rhinestone sunglasses for next time. :)

bounty Nov 19th, 2004 05:22 AM

Thank you, Bonniebroad! At my age a piece of cake heads right for the hips!!!

Statia Nov 19th, 2004 05:27 AM

Diana and Enya, good for you both for sponsoring. We have sponsored a boy in Thailand thru World Vision for almost 12 years, and another in Guatemala thru CCF for 8 years. It's a wonderful feeling to get those appreciative letters, cards, and updates, isn't it? I'm really hoping to be able to meet them both in person one day.
