Is this worth spending the time to see? I have 4 days in Phoenix/Canyon/Sedona area? Thank you!

If you're talking about Taliesen West in Scottsdale, it's definitely worth your time. Go in the morning and take the all-inclusive tour.

Oops, that should be Taliesin West.

Just want to second Howard's vote that you visit Taliesan West. I happen to be in the design field and my visit actually caused me to start seeing things differently - I was finally able to really understand concepts that just cant be learned from a book - it's a beautiful and peaceful place to explore. I cant imagine that you would be disappointed.

While some of FLW's other places are more beautiful, Taliesin West is certainly interesting. The docents will explain why it looks as it does. If you really aren't interested in FLW or architecture, you might want to take a pass, but this is probably the one thing I would recommend in the Phoenix area for people to see.

My husband is a builder so he really enjoyed the FLW attraction. I found the place fascinating too.I found my self wishing I could intern at the school as many have over the years.
There was another funky place we visited with windchimes and alternative living. I remember that it was not as beautiful, but interesting in a 60's kind of way. What was the name of that place????

We really enjoyed Taliesen West and its surroundings. Also, even though FLW is not officially credited as the architect at the Arizona Biltmore Hotel (right in Pheonix) it is obvious that he was thoroughly involved in the design and construction. We had a lovely drink and appetizers on the patio terrace overlooking the fountain and thought the interior and exterior spaces of the Hotel were some of the most beautiful FLW designs we have ever seen.

Maria

Gail's inquiry about another funky place with windchimes, etc....that would be Arcosanti, north of Phoenix approximately an hour plus.
