Fox Rent-a-Car

Has anyone used Fox for a rental car? What was your experience?

They are a lot less expensive for what we want, but hadn't heard of them before. Any opinions welcome.

We used them years ago in SF. Outside of the fact that they were a ten minute ride (in their shuttle, of course) from the airport, they were fine. But again, this was years ago, I hope someone else has a more recent experience to report.

I've used them in both SF and San Diego and been satisfied, esp the low price.

SF requires a 5min shuttle van ride after the AirTrain - as convenient as the others but not a big deal

San Diego - every co requires a bus ride, so not a problem there.

I have used them twice at the Orange County, CA (SNA) airport. Everything was fine and I saved a considerable amount of money. Yes, I would use them again!

Used them a few times; fine, but beware of the "so, you just want the basic coverage, not the extra, right?" line.

Thanks so much for the feedback! We are picking up the car at SFO and dropping off at LAX. Even with drop off charge Fox is a deal - particularly since we can get a PT cruiser convertable for the price of an economy car from any of the others.

I've never seen any rental car co guarantee any specific make & model of car so don't be surprised if you get something else besides a PT Cruiser.

It's given as a convertible so I assume that we will at least get a convertible. They have non-convertible PT cruisers under another category.

We've rented enough to know that they have different cars for different classes. However, usually a convertible is a convertible.

We rented in Phoenix & they were fine; good service - long lines! I guess b/c they were the least expensive!
