As per the Ritz-Carlton hotels: you have to put your room key card into a slot on the elevator to get to your room! And you can't go to another room floor unless you get off behind someone who is going to that floor. Your key card only works for your floor or the floors that go to the pool, gym, etc.

I would just pay the extra money to stay in the room. With all the security cameras, the hotel is going to see you coming and going from the room.

I'm sure that your friends are entitled to have guests come up to their room. Security should announce you from the lobby when you arrive alone.

There is absolutely no reason why 3 should be charged more than 2 in a room. However, you might be embarrassed if you are asked for a key when entering with your friends later on & you are unable to produce it.

vegaslocal, so what you're saying is that if someone posted asking the best time to rob a bank, he shouldn't expect anyone to comment on the "ethics" of robbing a bank, but just answer the question? I think you must live in a dream world and not the real world of cyber discussions.
Since most of the real answers, including yours, work at how to "beat the system", it's kind of hard NOT to answer without getting into the fact that obviously the poster is doing something "wrong". If they were paying for three guests as they should, none of this would even be an issue.

Well ya'all have been drivin me crazy again with your chit/chat. I went to the hotel website and the cheapest - moderate room states it is good for 3 adults or 2 adults and a child. Order that rollaway and walk in with your head up.

y'all
' = missing letters of you all

sistahlou Oct 23rd, 2006 03:25 PM

No starzzy,
that's how we spell it in my neck of the woods and anything with a " ' " is truly grammatically incorrect, so get you'r akahine off that high horse..... but thanks for criticizing my sorry akahine, it has helped this thread tremendously!!!

Havew fun hermie!!!!!

Hey, if this thread has room for the things that are "drivin me crazy" (our chit-chat) it has room for things that drives others crazy (mispelling of y'all). It should be an equal opportunity pet peeve forum! :-)

sometimes you can be a very harsh peron.

I took the time to check out whtat the hotel policy was ...regarding the original posters inquiry and posted the info, as others chose to make fun and judge...you included. for shame, you are better than this.

starrsville Oct 23rd, 2006 05:35 PM

What?!?!
No offense intended from the beginning. If you took offense, I have no response to that.

amaclise Oct 23rd, 2006 05:35 PM

Whoa. Simmer down y'all. I don't see where anyone was harsh or at least not the person you are referring to.

starrsville Oct 23rd, 2006 05:53 PM

Thanks amaclise.

Just to check, I went back and reread my posts. I was the first to respond with a short answer to the OP's question. I later pointed out that, although they may THINK they will be getting away from something by sneaking in a third, that will not be the reality at a 4S. I suggested they have a Plan B ready if they are displaced. Much later, I state that I think sneaking in an extra person is cheating.

How that equates to "making fun" and judging, I'm not sure. I shared my perspective based on stays at 4S - information the OP may or may not have experience with.

If saying that I think it is cheating is "judging", so be it.

I don't see how that statement is more (or less) harsh than others offering opinions.

starrsville Oct 23rd, 2006 06:01 PM

One last comment, I can't, won't, and don't accept that "anything with a " ' " is truly grammatically incorrect". I'm sorry. I've found that not to be true, at all.

Contractions are contractions and are in grammar books.

call - even anonymously if that makes you feel better - or look it up on the web - and pay whatever the charge is for a 3rd person in a room.
As my mother used to tell all of us -
"your conscience is what you do when no one is looking" -
the fact that you ask the question makes me feel you aren't comfortable with it, would be uncomfortable if 'caught' - and what kind of vacation is that?

lizziea06 Oct 23rd, 2006 06:08 PM

In October 2004, we put 6 in a room at MB with two queen beds. All 6 of us ladies have been friends for years, so it wasn't awkward or uncomfortable to share close quarters.

They actually provided us with 4 keys at check-in, and we just requested 2 additional later in the day. We had no problems accessing the pool, our room, etc. This was two years ago, so idea if security has changed.

laurenzo Oct 23rd, 2006 06:13 PM

If three to a room is fine, you can get your own key when you arrive! a There are great suggestions here already such as calling and asking or checking the website. Have a great time!!
