Four ladies looking for a good time
I am looking for some suggestions of where a group of four ladies could go for 4-5 days in May 2002. We are a group of friends who recently have decided to travel somewhere every other year. Our first trip was in 2000 to Vegas (great time had by all) and we had planned to travel to New York in 2002. One of the ladies is uncomfortable traveling to New York now and would prefer going somewhere else. I do not share her apprehension but want to go somewhere where ALL of us can relax and enjoy. Any suggestions from seasoned travelers of great places to go would be appreciated.

New Orleans! My mom and I did a ladies weekend over Memorial Day a couple years ago and had a fantastic time. We stayed at a great B&B and wandered all over the French Quarter, ate until we could barely walk, took the streetcar through the Garden District, and just relaxed in our room which had a great view over the roofs of the FQ. We also did a half-day swamp tour which was great fun. If you like nightlife, you can find some amazing music in the FQ. You can't help but enjoy it, even if you're not a big blues fan. My mom is the world's biggest prude (also from MN - Duluth), and she even loved going to the bars.
SF would also be great, but I found NO to be magical.

Deb - How about Toronto?... Toronto offers first class shopping, broadway shows, five star hotels, and your US dollar is worth $1.60. You can also side trip to the beautiful Niagara Wine country or even Niagara Falls for some Casino fun and sightseeing.... you might also prefer the european touch of Montreal or Quebec City...

I do a trip every year also with a group of girlfriends...we've done Savannah twice, Boston once, Hilton Head once, and this year a 3 night cruise. Loved all of them except Hilton Head (too many gated communities). I'd try Savannah! We stay at the Days Inn, they have a couple of two bedroom units with loft, great location, you can walk all over, great restaurants!

Corny as this may sound, I actually think every American should visit Washington DC, to see their capitol, the seat of government, the collections of the Smithsonian, the monuments, etc. So in this time of renewed patriotism, DC would be my suggestion.
