Forum shops at Ceasar's in Vegas
Are the forum shops worth a look or are they a glorified shopping mall?

Forum shops are awesome! Don't miss them!

The vast majority of stores in the FOrum Shops is higher-end chains like Abercrombie and Fitch, Banana Republic, Hugo Boss, Diesel, Christian Dior, Guess!, etc. If your local shopping is more Gap/Target/Mervyn's, this could be a nice upscale change of pace. Note that although it's a mall, you'll probably pay full retail for everything. You might hold out for the various outlet malls in the LV area.

Having said all this, I would say it's probably worth a spin, especially if you're visiting LV in the dead of summer, when walking around in 110-degree heat can be a bit hard. The decor is Caesar's-themed, i.e., kitchy Roman, so it's slightly tacky fun. Ahh, what the heck, buy a trinket in one of the souvenir shops in there and enjoy the A/C!!

Glorified shopping mall?!?!? No way. They have animatronics! Actually, it is kinda like a high end shopping mall...only with animatronic deities of the sea. Not sure if that qualifies as "glorified" But nevertheless cool to walk around looking at tacky things that I could never afford. If you are scared of animatronics, also check out the Grand Canal Shoppes at Venetian. Notice, Venetian spells shops "shoppes" so they must be better. That's why Michael Jackson shops there. Kinda similar to Caesar's...depends whether you want your senses to be tricked into thinking you're in southern Italy, or northern Italy.

The following describes the Forum Shops better than I could.

Shopping is an exotic experience at the Forum. Every hour, on the hour, the Festival Fountain comes alive with a realistic special effects show that includes lasers, computerized dancing waters and robotic statues. A second robotic statue show is featured hourly in the west corridor, where life-like animatronic figures of mythology"s Neptune and his feuding children reenact the tragic story of Atlantis. The two shows are presented daily free of charge.

Adjoining the Atlantis statues is a 50,000-gallon saltwater aquarium with hundreds of tropical fish designed to represent the legendary sunken city of Atlantis. On weekend afternoons, a marine biologist gathers young visitors to describe the marine life.

Combining shopping with entertainment makes The Forum Shops at Caesars a destination attraction in Las Vegas. A half-court basketball arena in the athletic shoe store Just For Feet offer customers the opportunity to test run their purchases. Magic Masters, designed as a replica of Harry Houdini"s private library, features magical demonstrations to passers-by; the Warner Bros. Studios Store has a video wall showcasing new movie trailers, popular cartoons and bloopers from classic films, as well as a free make-your-own-cartoon discovery area for young visitors.

Designers like Versace, Bernini, Armani, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Escada are among the many prestigious tenants, as are Wolfgang Puck"s Spago, The Palm, Chinois (a second Wolfgang Puck restaurant), Cheesecake Factory, Caviarteria, Bertolini"s, Stage Deli and Planet Hollywood.
Very expensive. Seems to me I recall one shop didn't have anything that the price was less than $1200. Worth going back to watch the ceiling and to see the fountain.
|
Hi
We eat lunch often at Spago, which is in the Forum area. From there we like to browse some of the shops. As others have said, there is DKNY, Banana Republic, all mall stores. But there are some fun boutiques that sell posters, bags, jewelry and what nots:)
I think the shops in the Forum are more fun that those in the Bellagio-which are few and very expensive (Prada, Gucci) and the Venetian also has a LOT of shops. Everything in Vegas is overpriced:) but worth the look.
|
Go just to see the animatronics, gigantic aquarium and the ceiling! It's gorgeous inside. If it's reasonable shopping you're looking for, stick to the strip malls just outside of town. Spago is a nice treat for lunch while you're browsing about. For further info, check out forum-shops.com.

I saw lots of people with bags from one store... forgot it's name... something like "for your feet". Sports clothing store. I got a jogging suite there (lined light jacket and pants) for 19.99. About a month ago. I was shocked to see such low prices at Caesar's shopping mall.

You don't have to actually buy things at the high end places! But the Forum is an experience on its own...even if you didn't go into the shops. They DO have palces like Victorias secret and Express...and we love the bar at Planet hollywood...once again-don't miss it!
|
Don't miss the Forum Shops. The mall is quite unique. Even if you do not but anything, just go for the experience. You can see the sky changing from day to night before your eyes.
|
a massive CHEESECAKE FACTORY wow

Also can you buy me some victoria secrets underware please and a abbercrombie and finch jumper, just some of the shops that I like but don't have in the UK. Be prepared for your credit card to get a good bashing!

have a great time
It's a glorified shopping mall. However, go there just to have a margherita with chips and salsa at the great little mexican bar/cafe right when you walk in.
|
If you like Asian food, I recommend Chinois. It's pretty fabulous. Ask to be seated at one the tables in the small patio area and you can watch the very entertaining crowd amble by.
|
Yes, Chinois is another Wolfgang Puck restaurant, very good!
|
Another vote for Chinois. We had 3 dishes, each one absolutely delicious! This was last July. Hope that the same chef is still there!
|
I used to like it more when they had the Caviarteria and the Discovery Store. If you have teens: I went on the "Race for Atlantis" with my nieces and nephew and that was big fun.
|
Just got back from Vegas, and "yes" see the forum shops.
Loved the "Ride to Atlantis", so much fun.
Also the food at Cheesecake factory was great and not that pricy. Try their cheesecake!!!!!The rest of the menu was very extensive and everything our party of three ordered was very good.
|
Awesome! An attraction in itself!
|
Forgot to add! We got to see Kevin Sorbo(sp?), Hercules, while we were there a few years ago at Planet Hollywood. That was a pleasant surprise! Never know WHO you'll see!
