Fort lauderdale to Naples

We will be driving from Fort lauderdale to Naples and plan to use I-75. Are there things we should do or see en route or should we just drive straight to Naples and spend the time there?

Thanks for any suggestions

Nothing to worry about, really. It's a straight shot across the state. The only thing to remember is to have plenty of gasoline in your auto because there are few gas stations along the way.

There is an Indian reservation that you might want to visit just about halfway along the route.

They've added a couple of stops with parking along the way, that are sort of conservancey areas -- I forget what they call them. They have boat launching facilities and some shelters. They are worth stopping for a few minutes for a closer view of alligators if you don't find seeing a few thousand along the banks while passing in your car enough.

I'm unaware of any real visit to do at an Indian Reservation, but there is an "Indian" store, restrooms, and sort of truck stop restaurant half way. In my opinion it's not even worth a stop. Along Tamiami trail there is a nicer Indian Cultural Center (Miccosukee Tribe), but that's a much further drive to take.

Hi ,

The "alley" for the most part is a very boring drive. The musts are have plenty of gas and some drinking water. Don't get hypnotized by the straight road and bland landscape. I generally set the cruise control to 70 slip a cd into the player and turn up the volume.

If you have time and are up for it you could visit the Seminole Tribe of Florida Billie Swamp Safari Park.... Take Alligator Alley (I-75) from either Ft. Lauderdale or Naples to exit 49 (Mobile Service Plaza) then go north 19 miles to the park entrance.

Or you could drive a little further to the south and take the Tamiami Trail (US-41) to Naples and stop at Shark Valley and take the tram ride.
