Fort Lauderdale in December

Planning to travel to Fort Lauderdale/West Palm Beach area in early December. Is it warm enough on average for the beach then. Heard conflicting info -- some say it is 80 degrees while others say it is sweater weather.

It is unpredictable, but most likely will be warm and sunny. So far weather has been in the 80's. little humidity during the day and breezee nights in the mid 60's.
We get some sold weather in January and Feb. early Dec. usually still very warm..Water could be cold, but all depends where are you from..

We've been in early December for cold snaps when the high never got out of the mid sixties.

Dear Fredad:

You can never predict the weather that time of year. I've lived in the area for thirty two years and have seen warm Decembers as well as chilly ones. Generally, even if there is a cold snap, it never lasts for long. It is usually cool in the morning and warm enough to go to the beach by early afternoon....you can still get a great tan.

I've lived in South Florida all my 49 years and have seen many, many Christmas Days where we would be sweating...LOL. Just bring a light jacket or windbreaker in case the weather is cool in the evening. Most likely, it will be warm, but it's good to be prepared just in case we get a cold snap (upper 50's and into the 60's is considered cold down here!) You probably won't want to swim in the ocean, but daytime in a heated pool should be lovely.
