Fort Lauderdale Hotel Recommendation
Looking for a nice hotel on the beach for a weekend stay. I heard Pelican Grand was nice but reading some mixed reviews. Budget is about 300 a night give or take. Lively is nice but not spring break lively. Thanks so much.

Would you consider just down the road in Hollywood, Margaritaville? The hotel itself is really "fun". Has a great upscale restaurant-JWB Prime Seafood. The Broadwalk is a great place to stroll, rent bikes, etc. Not sure when you are planning to visit, but may not meet your $$$ requirement.

I love the looks of the hotel rncheryl recommended, so I checked rates for myself for later in May and then for your dates, and it's pretty close to your budget.

Meant to add that there is a Water Taxi stop at the hotel, which means you could easily get to Ft. Lauderdale and the Las Olas shopping/dining/bar/gallery area.

Thank you...that looks like a possible option....I will look into it. Appreciate the feedback.

We stayed at the W Fort Lauderdale a couple years ago over Thanksgiving and liked it a lot. Pretty cool hotel and well located. There's also an excellent steakhouse on premises - Steakhouse 954.

I assume the "mixed reviews" of the Pelican Grand mentioned above are related to the ongoing construction at that establishment. I'm not sure I would agree with the assertion that it is "the best location as compared to other properties" (of course, that particular reviewer purposely fails to mention any of those "other properties" by name so who knows?)
The PG is NOT in the middle of the main beach action and for some that is a plus. I am sorry the OP failed to say what their definition of a "nice" hotel includes. There are a lot of beach hotels here but hopefully the OP has found something suitable. |
