Fort Lauderdale beaches
 

We have a 10 hour layover in FLL on our way to Norway and want to rent a car and go to a beach. Is there a beach that has showers and changing facilities?

I live on the beach in Fort Lauderdale and since there's one right outside my front door I don't usually go to the other public/lifeguarded beach areas.

<B>That I know of</B> there really aren't any stretches of beach which have the sort of shower and changing facilities you have in mind, unfortunately.

I will say that it is certainly not necessary to rent a car just to get to the beach here; a cab or Uber would serve that purpose and for a lot less money.

I'm sorry I am unable to be of more specific help. Hopefully, others who have more extensive knowledge will comment with alternate suggestions/more accurate information.

Several years ago I went to John Lloyd State Park before a late flight. Very close to the airport. They changed the name of the park not sure what it's called now but it was a wonderful place.

Not. Mizell-Johnson is north of Hollywood Beach on the other side of Dania Beach.

I would definitely suggest a car rental for Mizell-Johnson as opposed to a cab or Uber. Glad it has worked out for you.
