We are looking to take a cruise from Fort L in April next year. How far is airport from departing docks? Cost of transfer? How far is docks from Sheraton Yankee Clipper Hotel? Any comments on quality of hotel?

Fodors has a Cruises board. I wonder if you might get better info by posting your questions there....

Airport is very close to Port Everglades - less than 10 minute trip. There is now a shuttle van service between the airport remote parking area and the port. The cruise lines will also sell transfers, even if you book your own air - these often run about $50 per person. The Yankee Clipper is a little further from the port but still probably less than 30 minutes - it's at the south end of the Fort Lauderdale public beach. It's your typical Sheraton hotel. If you want a closer hotel, there is an Embassy Suites right on the causeway - it's not on the beach itself but many of the cruiselines use it for their prepackage stays because it is convenient.
