Fort Lauderdale

Is it worth it to pay extra for the 5 star beachside resorts? I'll be down in December to play golf and want to run the beach in the morning and sit on the balcony and watch the ocean at night. I live in a big city and am used to it's lifestyle.

Also, what live musical venues are there for jazz, pop, folk, classical?

Thanks in advance.

You should bid for hotel resort on priceline.com. I'm in the midst of doing that myself. Bidding for a "resort" hotel in Ft. Lauderdale. I want to be right on the beach. The resort hotel that priceline uses is the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort. Heard good reviews about this hotel. One of the best. Check out there website.
Good Luck!!!

Running on the beach is hard unless you run on hard packed sand. At least it is to me.
