Forest vacation in April

hello all,

we would like to take a vacation for a week in April.

we are living in nyc and we are thinking to go somewhere most 6 hours drive( we have 2 kids; older one is 4, younger one is 1 year old).

any suggestion that where we enjoy the nature and stay nice and cozy?

thanks in advance

Too cold. In April you need to head south - and stay away from the mountains.

thanks for the responses. in the beginning we were thinking to same think (heading south).
6 hours drive we can go virgina beach but in april we can't go to water that why we are thinking to have "mountain" vacation. but after your response we will think again!

Well, april is still early spring - for warm (beach) weather you need to go further. You can head to the mountains and the temps may be moderate - but still may be shilly.
