For Those Visitor to NY Who Want to See "Stars"
The upadated web site of the the New York Post (who else?) - www.nypost.com - has a new interactive feature called the Celebrity Star Map. You can search by date and it will show you reported celebrity sightings on the map. Click on the map and it tells you exactly where, with whom and what the celebrity was doing (well - not exactly - dining, shopping, clubbing, etc - no "personal" details).
But anyone coming to NYC and looking for stars - like Lohan, Hilton, Simpson etc - may want to check it out.
(ALthough it really supports the usual answer given here - everywhere and anywhere - esp where they live.)

It is very un newyorkish - but absolutely new york postish (remember headless body in topless bar?). All they have is gossip and sports - but since many people ask about where to find "stars" - there it is.

I don't feel sorry for those celebrities. They live for the attention. Didn't you see Paris posing when she got her DUI? The police sent her home early bc they couldn't handle the papparazzi (however you spell it). Paris loves to try and get people to feel sorry for her plight. Maybe if she ever thought of staying home a night, it would give all of us a break. IMO...

You have to click on the infamous page 6 - on the top bar. Then further down the page is a blurb for their new "star map". Agreed - most of these people are famous for absolutely nothing but being famous (although they do list New York actors once in a while).
But it's all dependent on readers listing people they see - so you're stuck with the Post's readers idea of who is famous - and who they recognize - I think they would walk right past many real celebrities without noticing them (I saw DeNiro last week near Lincoln Center and a bunch of tourists never even turned to look - probably because he wasn't one of the super starlets with a limo and 14 bodyguards.)

The New York Post is incredibly popular, particularly in the 5 boroughs, for its Sports, political commentary and, yes, Page Six.
I subscribe to 3 dailies -- Post, WSJ and the Times.
But the Post ... Gotta love it!
