I guess I'm spending my yearly, month long vacation in Europe next year. Get to visit family in Poland, take sidetrips to Romania and Bulgaria, wrap up the European adventure in UK to see ManUTD put the rest of the league behind them far enough to guarantee championship :-D and finally see my sister in Chicago and visit a good friend in San Francisco for couple of days. How can you beat that?

Sorry, wrong forum....ignore! :-)

LoveItaly Aug 4th, 2006 10:02 AM

LOL AA, I thought I needed to brew another pot of coffee and wake up some more as I couldn't figure out your post!

Neopolitan Aug 4th, 2006 10:06 AM

It may be the wrong forum, but I'm impressed as hell anyway. Congratulations on "working the system".

AAFrequentFlyer Aug 4th, 2006 10:17 AM

It got better. I changed the BA YYZ-LHR from F to J and the entire award changed from an F award (180K miles) to J award (130K miles) plus $210 in taxes and fees.

A straight AA All Partner J award to Europe is 90K miles and to South America is 60K miles. 20K miles is 20 miles.

Anyway, mods, feel free to move this over to the airline forum. Thanks!

But didn't you post some time ago that you had flown a million miles on AA - does that not give you some special preference on FF seats?

AAFrequentFlyer Aug 4th, 2006 10:53 AM

Gail,

1MM gives you GOLD status for the life of AAdvantage program and in my case 4 System Wide Upgrades, but that's it.

My Executive Platinum Status gives me "extra" award inventory on AA ONLY (I think), but regardless, as the EXP agent and I were working on the itn, I was asking her few questions about certain rules and also about availibility and she informed me that the flights I picked had more award inventory and it was opened up to EVERYBODY.

The only flight I'm not happy with is the red-eye SFO-MIA and catching an early morning to TPA, but that was the only flight available for award at this time, but the other flights were my choice of dates and routes.

Wow, I'm impressed, too! Wish my itinerary looked like yours. It doesn't but when I have wanted to book award tickets (American and United) I've never had a problem. Great job, AAF!

I never had problems booking 330 days out, but I'm having problems getting from PHL to LGW next summer. Everyone is telling me snag the 4 available tickets from Air Canada, PHL to Toronto to Heathrow. They are on hold now, but would would much rather prefer to fly direct, naturally.
