I will be visiting New York City at the beginning of April. I have a friend who is crazy about America football and I would like to know if there are any shops in New York that specialise in football merchandise such as T shirts, sweatshirts etc. My friend would like a hooded sweatshirt with a football team logo on it. Can anyone help? <BR>Many thanks <BR>

I would suggest K-Mart or something like that. Your friend might want to check out nfl.com because s/he might be able to order it online. <BR> <BR>You might want to check out nfl.com ahead of time so you don't come back with a "Chicago Panthers" shirt. (By the way, it's Chicago Bears and Charlotte Panthers). I wouldn't buy ANYTHING from guy selling stuff out of a van.

You'll be able to find football merchandise in just about every department and sports store you come across. You won't have any problem at all locating the sweatshirt.

Kay and Lena thank you very much for your responses. I hadn't actually thought of looking in K-Mart - I am not really much good at this shopping thing! Looking forward very much to my (fifth) vist to NYC.

Sports Authority - 34th & 7th across from Penn Station. 57th and 7th across from Carnegie Hall.

Be aware that anything you buy at an "official" sports venue that is "official" NFL wear will cost you an outrageous amount -- $50+ just for a shirt. You're much better off picking up something generic at a department store or discount store.

I stand corrected. the sports Authority across from Penn station has closed, and the uptown one is at 57 and 6th.
