Fontainebleau vs Eden Roc
Does anyone have any comments on either of these Miami hotels? I searched but found only one comment on the F.

Neither of them offer anything particularly desirable...not BAD, just not too good either. Must you stay at one or the other?

Dear Janet, <BR>Our family stayed at the Fontainebleau for 3 days between Christmas & New Years. We have 3 kids ages 12, 14 & 16. They liked the pool but... $3.75 for a bagel - take-out no less just threw me for a loop. My kids loved the South Beach area. Lots of shops and restaurants close by. I wish we'd stayed there. The Art Deco Hotels are beautiful. If South Beach doesn't interest you and you feel you must stay where the Fontainebleau and the Eden Roc are, there's a BEAUTIFUL Days Inn a few doors down. I'm not joking. We ended up traveling back and forth to South Beach for each meal. The hotel's restaurant (we did have one meal there) was very mediocre and very pricey. Hope this helps. Hallie

My favorite story about the Fountainbleau: we stayed there for two nights once. When we checked in there was a tray of room service half-eaten food in front of the door next to us. When we left two days later it was still there. That says it all.

We stayed at the Fountainbleau last year for the Miami Boat Show and WHAT a disappointment.....This year we are definately staying in So. Beach. Dont waste your time or money on either place.
