Fontainebleau Hilton in Miami Beach
I will be staying at the Fontainebleau Hilton in Miami Beach (along with my wife and eleven year old son) the week of June 30. Can somone advise us as to what to expect from the hotel and the surrounding neighborhood / area? We will be there one week and have (so far) planned only to see the Marlins and Braves on Monday and Wednesday. Any suggestions?

When planning a trip to Miami, I have to flip a coin to decide where I stay.Heads--The Century in SoBe.Tails-Fontainebleau!! Its a complete resort and your son will have a blast in the waterpark.Beach is great and all thje activities are right there....wave running, parasailing, sailing. It is a HUGE resort but thats what I like about it.Service is good particularly if your Spanish is passable.Overall a great experience according to when I have been there.

Do a search, Vinnie.
Type 'fontainebleau' in the text search box. Most of the info is negative, but the resort has been updated in places during the past couple years. Huge convention resort, quite impersonal, but great for kids. |
Nothing to really add.....just a memory.....I remember the opening of the Fontainebleau (was a child growing up in Miami). Miami Beach was wonderful, and OH! what a sight the Fontainebleau was....very impressive.
enjoy your trip |
We stayed at the Fountainbleau about a year ago and absolutly loved it. It's a very nice hotel with lovely grounds.
Your son will love the waterslides at the hotel and the area around the hotel is extremely nice. I think you will have a wonderful time. |
Run out this weekend and buy a Wall Street Journal. There was a good article about hotel pools in the weekend section and they talked about the Fontainebleau.
