Foliage trip with dogs
 

Can anyone tell us where in southern connecticut we could spend oct 6-9th to see colors, rest, walk, read, with our two dogs accepted at the lodging? something unusual and nice. we are coming from lancaster county,pa.

Southern CT is not the best area in CT for fall foliage. Your best bet for beautiful scenery is the Litchfield Hills area in Litchfield County. Go to www.litchfieldhills.com for all the best lodging in the area. You should be able to find a nice B & B that takes pets.
P.S. There is a great place for easy hikes with pets in Litchfild, its called the White Foundation. It has a small nature museum and miles of wide well-kept trails, even a boardwalk that goes through a swampy area that is lovely in the fall.

You may wish to check carefully on foliage in Connecticut. We were just down there and noted some trees turning brown already. The news also mentioned a fungus of some kind that apparently is infecting many of the usually lovely sugar maples, because of all the rain this past spring, causing them to go directly to brown instead of colors.

Just a thought. I wish you luck.

That retired Vermonter is just blowing smoke up your bum, CT foliage is just beginning to turn, and no brown to be seen in our Litchfield Hills. We are not near peak yet, but in a week or two, WOW, it will be georgeous!
Litchfield is about 2 hours from the city. Not a bad ride, very scenic if you drive I-84 east to Rte 7 North, then Rte 202 will take you straight into the town of Litchfield.
