Foliage

I am looking for a place to visit for 2 nights, 3 days with an infant for the beautiful fall foliage. The dates are Oct 24 - 26.I know this is peak in the south, I am from NYC & researched that I am looking at CT, Rhode Island, South PA. Which is the best one to go to out of these.
Also due to my baby , i would rather stay close to the foliage then drive around all day, any hotel suggestions.I have been to Lancaster a 1000 times so dont want to go there but anywhere else in PA,CT ( have been to mystic alot ),Rhode island would be great.
I need to book fast, this is also the weekend I am celebrating the end to my fellowship - ending my studying career of 20 years. Thanks in advance

As you noted, it is peak period in the South. I can't help you with locations in the NorthEast, but if you do decide to travel south, I would highly recommend Asheville or Hendersonville, North Carolina. Both towns are superbly located for foliage viewing and offer dining, antiquing, etc.

Congratulations on the completion of your fellowship!

The Holiday Inn Express in Plainfield gets good reviews, not far from Voluntown and Hampton which are noted in the link as good observation points, and it's only $75 per night.
