Fodors' polls were better than trivia quiz
 

The polls which Fodors used to have were very good because you could find out how other travelers weighed in on subjects like how much do you spend on a hotel room, how many days do you vacation, how much do you tip, how many miles do you drive for your vacation, etc.

The trivia questions tend to be dumb. The last one was about something named SUE in a museum in Chicago! Who cares?

Does anyone else think the polls were better?

Never gave it ant thought, Wemr. But I will say this. Does it really matter how much people spend on a hotel room, how much people tip,how many miles they drive? Those are all subjective and irrelevant. Knowing about something named Sue in a museum has a Trivial pursuit aspect to it and may test the knowledge of the reader. I tend to not view it as a dumb question at all.

I'll take blame for the typing error before you show it out.

gojacks, in answer to your question. Yes. Because people want know how others feel about a travel issue, not a fossil in a museum.

The topics you mention are debated all day,every day in threads on this forum. Fossils are not, but still carry that element of travel that has interest to some of us.

I actualy liked the trivia questions more then the polls. From trivia I could learn something. Too bad they've changed the website, now that trivia is tucked in somewhere I hardly ever remember to open. Before the website would take me to the quiz first, then to the forum.

Who knows what fodors thinks? My questions about Amazing Race have caused entire threads to be deleted for the past couple of days, with no explanation from anyone.

And Darvy's thread got frozen before I typed an answer. Hello Darvy :)

MelissaHI, I noticed that there were no Amazing Race threads. I didn't know they got deleated. They were very popular in the past weeks and months.

Darvy's first thread was an admission to being a troll, and the second was about her lesbian friend or SO. Based on the topic, the censor got involved, probably before going to the convention in NYC.

The dumb thing about the trivia is that you have to keep answering it until you get it right. So then when they show the number of respondents and the percentage of the answers they are meaningless. Was that the number on the first try? Were all tries counted? Did each time you click count as a "respondent"?

I haven't done anymore since I did that one. Don't remember the subject.

I can't imagine why Fodors is deleting the Amazing Race threads. I started a new one yesterday and marked why it was travel related and it was gone within 10 minutes.
I noticed where Patrick had emailed them about the &quot;I stepped on a razor in a hotel room&quot; thread and got it reinstated.
Maybe one of us brave souls should email and ask why we can't talk about a travel game?
A new censor maybe?

Hey, iceeu2, I think I saw you (or was it an imposter?) post after me when i posted the question on an AR thread saying, &quot;Let's get 'em all deleted!&quot; I thought it was kidding, of course, but then that entire thread got canned.

I thought about emailing the editors but I'm too chicken. It's only when you post the question on an existing AR thread or start a new thread regarding AR, that it gets obliterated completely.

This entire THREAD is more entertaining than EITHER the polls OR the &quot;trivia quiz&quot; ever could have been! and gives about the same amount of really useful information, too. What a deal!!!!
