FODORS! CAN'T OPEN POSTS!!!!!!!!!!!

Cannot open any posts. This has been going on all day. Only once was I able to pull up a post but no others. Then none at all.

I feels so disconnected!!! ;)

Didn't you get the memo? It's "members only" now -- have you paid your USD$5/day via Visa/MC/PayPal for access rights?

(In a syrupy sweet voice)..

Click your heels three times and maybe the wicked flying geek monkeys will get it fixed soon!: J.

I seem to be okay, if I go into a state and then click on a post. But if I click on a post in the US forum, it doesn't open. Says something like "posts loading to the left". What a bummer.

BayouGal Aug 30th, 2006 07:40 PM

This is such a pain in the BEHIND! [(

matnikstym Aug 30th, 2006 08:22 PM

seems they fixed it AND got rid of the knee thread at the same time...maybe it was the knee of the moderator....

LoveItaly Aug 30th, 2006 08:25 PM

I still have the "knee" ad and I have not had a problem at all. I am not complaining (well except about the "knee ad") but how strange so many Fodorites have had problems here today. I wonder why some do and some do not?

matnikstym Aug 30th, 2006 08:36 PM

the knees there but the knee thread is gone.

pollyvw Aug 30th, 2006 08:38 PM

Well...I've never had a knee problem and have no clue what y'all are talking about...BUT...I cannot view posts using my preferred Netscape browser. I had to switch to Firefox. Just started tonight

John Aug 30th, 2006 08:41 PM

No problem here AND I don't know what the knee ad is. Do you have pop ups blocked/

starrsville Aug 30th, 2006 09:05 PM

I had problems, but not now.

The knee thread is gone, but the knee is still here? That's not RIGHT! :-(

LoveItaly Aug 30th, 2006 10:38 PM

The knee ad is not a pop up ad. It is at the bottom of the screen below the last post..at least that is what I see. I do have a pop up ad blocker on my computer. And for some reason I have not had any problem with the Fodor's website. Strange!!

At this moment, both the knee ad and my posting/opening problems are gone. I'm seeing a GoCard ad, just a blue box with text.

BayouGal Aug 31st, 2006 02:37 AM

I have the knee. :(

gail Aug 31st, 2006 02:53 AM

Had problem - just turned my computer off and back on - now it works.

mclaurie Aug 31st, 2006 03:21 AM

Had some problems yesterday. Find if I use Mozilla browser it works. With IE it doesn't. Then they were both working. Today back to mozilla works but IE doesn't.

gail Aug 31st, 2006 03:26 AM

Could it be that people at Fodors know we all need to get off the computer, go to work, do some laundry, mow the lawn, etc.

BayouGal Aug 31st, 2006 03:31 AM

LoL, gail!! Those were my thoughts yesterday morning when I couldn't get Fodors to work for anything. :)

travel_addict Aug 31st, 2006 04:55 AM

LOL, Gail. I just e-mailed BayouGal saying it was probably a good thing I couldn't see posts - maybe I can get some work done today. Oh, but darn, it's working now... :D

What happened to the knee post anyhow??

BayouGal Aug 31st, 2006 07:07 AM

Turns out it was the girlfriend of one of the editor's. He didn't want our thread to draw so much attention to the knee that the wife would find out! :-o

So, it's been deleted!
