Fodor's Boston GTG
 

The Fodor's Boston GTG will be held in Portland, Maine, on September 16 and 17, 2016. The Kimball's have been very gracious to host this event in the past and after talking to them about a different location they thought it might be fun to go to a different New England city. My name is Benita and I will be hosting this year under the Kimball's expert guidance.

If you are traveling to New England this fall, we would love to have old and new Fodorites attend this fun event. The main GTG will be held Saturday, Setember 17th around 11 a.m. for socializing before the luncheon. Details will follow for the location. For those of you who would like to attend the entire weekend, there will be plans for Friday and Saturday evenings.

Portland is a wonderful city on Casco Bay with excellent shopping boutiques and award winning restaurants. Many menus will have boiled lobsters, lobster rolls, fried clams, mussels, steamers and oysters on the half shell. The town of Freeport is 25 minutes away with outlet shopping and the original LL Bean store.

We are planning to stay at Portland Marriott at Sable Oaks, Sable Oaks Drive, South Portland, Maine Telephone No. 1 (218) 871-8000. Prices are $169 and up. There is plenty of free parking on the property. Please make your reservations as soon as possible as this is the start of leaf peeping season in New England. The waterfront in Portland is about a 15 minute drive from the hotel.

Great location choice and sorry to miss this - I'll be in Chicago.

I have always wanted to go to Maine. If the stars align right, I might be able to make it.

Sounds fun! I'm planning on going to Maine in September, but I'll miss this by a week. I'm sorry to miss it.

Just checking in to see if there are any new attendees for the Portland, Maine GTG. Dinner, my house, Friday evening. Lunch and dinner Saturday Portland area. Hopefully a Duck Boat ride to see Portland and the waterfront. Fun, food, laughter and wine!
