A bio, to help you decide:

sex - male
age - my hair stylist knows, bubba
occupation - traffic safety, yours and especially mine, so lets have a bit less road rage in 2002
likes - travelling, of course, being friends with women, wine, thinking, skiing, being on this site, dropping that pound or two when the mood strikes, feeling good, looking good, thinking good.
dislikes - foul language on Fodors, contrarians, posting with a phony name, small mindedness, bigots, cruelty, arrogance and people who keep their competition switch "on" 24/7.
goals - living a long as possible, travelling some more, being safe from terrorism which tried to destroy DC where I live, more freedom for all of us, banishment of religions and cultures which subjugate women (how in god's good name do these horrible practices get started in the first place?) - and more castration for the guys who perpetuate these practices.
Have a good holiday season and properous, happy, safe 2002. Ciao

I typically vote Republican, but I've been disturbed at how they want to give tax breaks to multi-national corporations at the expense of Social Security and Medicare. Not to mention extending benefits to workers who have been laid off since September 11.

What was once the Republican Party is now the Libertarian Party. Today's Republican Party should be renamed the Corporatist Party since that's who they serve.

Gee, what an interesting post. I like how, from time to time, the topic swerves ever so slightly from the true subject, yet it manages to right itself. Even better, there's been very little rudeness (comparatively speaking). I guess eveyone's getting into that holiday spirit. Keep it up guys (and gals). This is why I first came to this site, and why I've stayed through thick and thin. This is a great site. Monkeys, or no monkeys.

Wondering Aug 23rd, 2002 11:49 AM

I understand the reluctance to use real email addressess. However, is there a way we can get in touch with each other to share more info. We have some real experts on various parts of the country and sometimes I'd like to "talk privately" to them so as not to bore others with details.

If Fodors decides to have us register, do we have to give real names and email address?

sister Aug 23rd, 2002 11:53 AM

Oh goody! Let's all give our personal info out to complete strangers. Kelly..can I be your bridesmaid??!!!

EVER HEARD OF SEXUAL PREDATORS!!!!!

anon Aug 23rd, 2002 12:36 PM

Its really weird. If you go to the Canada or the Latin American boards, they only discuss TRAVEL! How can they stand it? Aren't their lives empty without getting their daily social interaction from a travel discussion board? Plus, there are almost no trolls and no gritchy responses. Like I said, its weird.

getalife Aug 23rd, 2002 12:40 PM

SOUNDS SNOBBISH Aug 26th, 2002 07:23 AM

GS, I glad you love cats but otherwise you seem to have some REAL issues. I'm glad your husband is supportive, sounds like you need therapy, as you state you don't like snobs, but the rest of you dislikes are rather snobbish. And what is the deal with kids? You were one once yourself. GET A GRIP.

xxx Aug 26th, 2002 07:58 AM

Um, SOUNDS, it's you who needs to get a grip. So what if she isn't a big fan of kids? Brace yourself for a shock here, but not everyone wants kids or wants to spend a lot of time with them. And since she's chosen not to have them, apparently, what do you care? It sounds more like she doesn't like lazy, stupid parents instead of kids, so put your wig back on and chill.
