Greetings fellow fodorites!

I have been hosting Fodorite get togethers since May 1999 (first one in Paris!). I'd like to see if any others are interested in joining the group. Two couples have moved (well one moves away at the end of this month) recently. I know there are other area fodorites on Fodors, so here’s your chance to meet your fellow travelers and have some good times.

We normally get together once a month either at someone's home (ethnic theme lunches around 1pm; or early dinners around 4-5pm) or at a restaurant, typically in Bethesda since it's in the "middle" from where everyone lives. And we select restaurants for smaller groups. It’s been difficult to find a place that takes a large group, plus it’s hard to talk to everyone when there’s too many at a long table. Our events lasts 3-4 hours on average; however, I’ve had a few people stay later into the evenings when others have gone home. Depending on the availability, we can have a get together with just 6 of us or 20! It's been tons of fun, especially coming up with theme luncheons. Our group lives in MD, DC and VA.

If you are interested, please email me. I’ll probably set up a get together at a restaurant in Bethesda for sometime in mid to late July.

Hi Monica, we make it down to the area every 5-6 weeks. Lunch works best for us. Please keep me on your e-mail list for announcements of the GTG's, and hopefully we can hook up. If it's a home thingy, "I got wine."

PS Budman,

I noticed on one message you were in Kauai. Did you also get to the Big Island? Tony and I are heading there in October. Last time I was there was before I moved to the mainland in 1979!
