I am hoping that there won't be an earwig epidemic at the gtg~ I remember all to well when it happened to me on a very discounted flight between Fresno and Lima Peru.

I tried to get assistance from the small gremlin out on the wing, but he was otherwise engaged(something with the engine). Meanwhile, I began to hear the dreaded voice of Rod Sterling..

I had forgotten about my peanut allergy, and that was most likely the cause..the gentleman next to me was certainly generous when he mentioned the nuts he had brought on board.
Sweatpants weren't as tacky back then, and it made for some interesting puppeteering on his part. You know, I was always charmed by a foreign accent.
Upon landing, the itching became unbearable and I suffered a small sunstroke later that afternoon. Well, someday my grandchildren will be told the old travel stories. I always did envy that June Robinson

iceeu2~ gee, if it was in a good time frame, I'd be game to attend. My summer schedule won't be flexible til late July/early August.
The PNW is a lovely area, as is Northern Idaho for lakes and relaxation.
Would love to return to No. Cal., Arizona, Hawaii. Hopefully, J.

I think a GTG on a plane would be great! I do think it would need to make a pitstop in Portland, OR though...if for nothing other than the interesting conversations that always turnup

I think the plane should stop somewhere where we can all swim w/dolphins.

I'm sorry, I couldn't resist...

Why don't we consider Brussels?

If we can ever manage to find it on a map!

emd,
Better think twice about sticking with that suggestion...
you might find yourself being the 1st person thrown overboard!

I think it should be in Hawaii, rent the new Spirit of Aloha and sail around the islands. Where ever it is, i'll bring my own pillow and blanket for the plane and sheets for the hotel room! maybe we could find the woman who was bringing her friends sex toys and didn't know how to pack them. (post deleted, wonder why?)

Hmm, the new Pride of Hawaii is the new big ship. It's probably the classiest of the whole fleet, but I need to tell you....NCL is not known for their food! We'd have to bring our own! I just rode it a few weeks ago.

Hi jetset, well because we need the inhouse restaurant specialist to advise us where to eat, lol. A westcoast joke.

MellisaH, I will bring JellyBelly's..the factory is just down the freeway from me. Bet SeaUrchin has a stash of them she could bring too!

Not too many east coasters on this thread!! Love Italy, I love your rules as jet sets tid bits are hilarious as well.
A giant plane of fodorites would be quite the scene. Remember the old 747's. Let's bring one of those back with the upstairs lounge. Who would our stewardess/stewards be on this flight??? Can we pick some interesting characters to work the flight?
I vote that no seats recline to make everyone have a personal space in front of them that is more than 3 inches.
Why No Cal as the destination? I think the private island was a great idea. Doesn't any fodor own one of these yet? How about Statia's house? Hey Statia, how about a bunch of guests with strange travel fettish's coming to visit your island?
Fun thread!

Statia's island...that is my vote!!

mms, if you son is coming down over the 4th of July do you have the website for the JellyBelly Factory? They don't have employees working over the holidays so it is just videos etc. If you need the website let me know.

girlonthego, the 747's, great idea!! How about if we arrange for the SF Beach Blanket Babylon to perfom for us..you think?

And whine with wine..that always works, lol.

Hmmm, I have the NutTree Airport just a mile from me. Shall we arrange for a private plane? Problem is commercial jets are not allowed to land there. There is always a negative aspect, sigh.

So lets see, whine with wine in Napa..fly out of SFO..meet all our non N CA lovely Fodorites at SFO..skip flying to Fresno..and then decide (I guess the majority rules?) whether we fly west to Hawaii or east to dear Statia's island.

Ohhh, all the gals get to have a manicure and pedicure during the flight. KSWL, will you arrange that? And you know I am teasing you I hope.

But there hasn't really been a discussion about babies and little ones. Will this be an adult only flight? And if so, what about all the Fodorites that don't act like adults, will they be allowed to board? If so and if they start acting up will it be agreed upon that we can just toss them in the cargo section? You think?

I nominate jetset as Chairman of the Best Fodorite GTG In History! Who wants to second the nomination?

That will teach you to post a suggestion jetset

LoveItaly, I will do even better---set up a mini nail salon in one of the lavs (preferably the only one that has a baby-changing table!). We'll all get those curving weapon Thai-looking acrylic nails with the Fodor's "F" on each one as a decal
